@RobsterMobster1@HuskerBaseball The release said season ticket holders had the chance to buy tickets before the public. Not necessarily reserved seats, though. So it’s true but still bullshit.
@HuskerBaseball This is a lie, "GA" tickets were available at 2pm but no reserved seats. Go F yourself. I'll be cancelling my season tickets next year after this treatment.
@swmckewonOWH@tomshatelOWH Oregon Fan here: I am fine with Nebraska. Beautiful stadium, nice people. Fan turnout was only good for Nebraska but won’t be better anywhere else. Agree to have it there in perpetuity & in exchange all outdoor track championships at Hayward Field in Eugene OR (TrackTown USA)
@Dhoff6@EvanBlandOWH Let's wait and see where the RPI is at the end of the day. But most of the hay is in the barn. A neutral site loss on Friday wouldn't hurt much. That said, it will be against an opponent who played 3 games in 3 days to get there, so it better be a win.
Final: #24 Nebraska 14, Minnesota 11. #Huskers win a slugfest, homering four times and benefiting from five Gophers errors while the pitching allows a season-high 16 hits.
A sweep sends NU into the postseason a winner of seven straight. Bunch of in-state games seemingly on deck.
@EvanBlandOWH That’s dumb under any circumstances, but especially in such a large league with an unbalanced schedule. The team with the fifth best record might not be the fifth best team (see Purdue). Common opponents is an apples-to-apples comparison.
A note for today's Nebraska-Minnesota baseball game: The Gophers actually do need to win to advance to the league tourney (otherwise Michigan State will). Big Ten changed its second tiebreaker after head to head -- it's now record against top-8 finishers (not common opponents).
Final: #24 Nebraska 7, Minnesota 6. Another epic, improbable #Huskers comeback, this time with a six-run 9th capped by a go-ahead wild pitch. J'Shawn Unger with the save.
NU takes the series and reaches 40 regular-season wins for the first time since 2005.
@EvanBlandOWH#2 seed is ideal because first pitch is scheduled for 5pm Friday. Which of course means sometime around 6:30. #3 seed game might start near 10:00.
Stakes for tonight's Nebraska-Minnesota baseball game:
#Huskers: Secure #2 seed in Big Ten tourney with a win or USC loss (at Oregon).
Gophers: Clinch Big Ten tourney bid with win or Penn State loss (at Maryland).
@swmckewonOWH Why would Troy Dannen alienate baseball and softball season ticket holders? I’ve heard the same approach was taken with volleyball, but it seems the impact was far less, because nobody remembers it being such an issue.
What a weekend for @HuskerBaseball.
The Big Red does a clean sweep of #USC at home, scoring 36 runs in three games, including a 16-6 run-rule win today.
#Huskers are up 12 spots in the RPI this week to 15.
@EvanBlandOWH Should Oregon players have been ejected for coming onto the field? Or would they have had to make it all the way to the vicinity of the dustup?
A brief dustup as NU's Rhett Stokes and Oregon's Ryan Cooney bump chests near second base after the #Huskers ground into a double play in T7. No ejections, it seems.
Final: Nebraska 12, Indiana 4. Dylan Carey bookends an 8-run 7th with his NU career-record double and a grand slam while Cooper Katskee fires a quality start in his Sunday debut.
#Huskers (22-6, 8-1) just keep rolling. At Creighton on Tuesday.
