@wild_ecology @Celestron Alternatively, get some neoprene foam sheet (or similar) fold around the threads into a tube, and then wrap with tape to secure. Trim to fit.

@wild_ecology @Celestron Hardware store or auto supply store. Ask for soft rubber hose that can be purchased by length. They should have a bunch of diameters that you can try fitting over the threads. Might need to double up/overlap to get your desired length and diameter.

Birders, what's a DIY solution here? Binos work fine, and @Celestron already told me they don't have a replacement part available.

Hi Ian. Thanks for getting in touch - there are an increasing number of solar paneled traps out there. I don't know the RD700WF (nor anything else on Amazon etc.). From what I can see in the specs our trap is different for the following reasons: 1) adjustable shutter 2) animal guarantee 3) its a trap tested by me at scale in the toughest conditions in African field sites (hence me putting my name on it) Hope that helps! @ethanblinck I may just have some sort of gustatory Stockholm Syndrome, but I think espresso+filter coffee tastes really good. It has all the range of coffee taste in one cup.

barista pulled an extra shot of espresso by mistake and offered it to me as I was filling up my coffee, so I’m having a shot in the dark for the first time since grad school. kind of incredible this is legal

@brendarvil Starlings are great birds for practice (good size and thick skin) but even expertly prepared starlings look a little disheveled. Nice work.
