Champions of Peace-Kenya thanks Ambassador Meg Whitman for hosting us during the celebration of the upcoming US Independence Day and 60 years of diplomatic relations between our nations. Kenya and the United States have a long-standing partnership built on shared ideals.

We underscores the role of media in information dissemination and behavior change in the society. It is against this backdrop and in the spirit of partnership that we collectively, CoP-K, NCTC and MCK, sensitised 50 media practioners in Nairobi County on PCVE reporting.

CoP-K conducted a one-day capacity building of Interfaith grassroot stakeholders in Wajir County through sensitisation on role of Interfaith leaders in thwarting terrorist ideologies within their places of worship and community at large.

We had a successful planning meeting with the MCK to forge strategic partnership with media stakeholders that will ensure the media practioners are capacity built on PCVE so as to drive preventative narrative in their stories, a strategic fight against terrorism.

Despite technological advancement being advantageous to enhance communication in societies, it has equally attracted rogue users that spearhead bad habits like cyber crime, cyber bullying and online GBV. youtu.be/8SdqGvWal0E

Human rights approaches to preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE) emphasize the importance of respecting and promoting human rights as a fundamental part of effective strategies. Champions of Peace-Kenya acknowledges the role of human rights on PCVE through ensuring.

We organised a 1-day Kinango PCVE Interfaith dialogue that brought together religious leaders from different sects in Kwale county. The forum addressed VE and ideological vulnerabilities that are on the rise in Kinango as a way of mitigating its impacts to the people.

We organised a 2-day tournament dubbed: Tana River County Sports for Peace and Security which involved four football teams drawn from Mikinduni ward in Galedyertu Sub-County. The NiPi programme takes cognizant of the role of sports in peace and security outreach systems.
