☀️ Year 6 enjoyed a sunny day at the Globe Theatre, Tate Modern, and lunch at Borough Market to support their Shakespeare and Global curriculum learning. The children loved seeing the 'Lobster Phone' by Salvador Dali, which starred in a school production! 🦞

The excitement was palpable when Gladiator 'Steel' visited Copthorne! Zack George aka Steel inspired our school community with his message: hard work, self-belief, and determination can help you achieve your goals! He also emphasized exercise and healthy eating.

Year 2 enjoyed a very interesting visit to the the local Gurdwara to learn about Sikhism, where they experienced the warmth of the Sikh community. Children also enjoyed a delicious meal in the langar, understanding the importance of a community kitchen #Sikhism #CulturalEducation

Inspired by their learning on Antarctica and Ernest Shackleton, Year 2 have been writing job applications to join the intrepid explorer on an expedition and have thinking about bravery, determination and resourcefulness, as important traits for a worthy travelling companion.

Year 3 went back in time and became Ancient Egyptians. The children enjoyed an interactive performance from Aesop’s Touring Theatre Company, created their own sarcophaguses and wrote in hieroglyphics on real Papyrus paper. A day fit for a Pharaoh!

Year 5 joined the Natural History Museum's Lego Challenge, designing Lego creations to sustain rural habitats. They made drones to scatter seeds to nature bridges for safe animal crossings. Brilliant idea!
