🎥 Charred fragments of 1940s paperwork, scattered across Glasgow after the Union Street fire, are giving locals a tangible piece of the building’s past. “Like a treasure hunt through the city streets,” Marc Molloy and friends followed the trail from Sauchiehall Street to Blythswood Square, collecting burnt handwritten and typed documents dating back to the 1940s. He says the fragile pages are a powerful reminder of the history, memories and generations tied to the Union Street building – and now wants to preserve and digitise them so this “little piece of history” belongs to everyone, not just the people who found it.
