Waterford permutation: At home to Tipp next week. Win and they are safe. Lose and they are relegated. A draw and their fate is out of their hands with no game on the last day. Would need either (i) Tipp to beat KK or (ii) KK to beat Tipp by 14 or more for Waterford to survive

Kilkenny permutations: If Tipp beat Waterford next week, then KK are safe. If Waterford beat Tipp, then KK and Tipp on the final night is a relegation decider with KK needing a win most likely.

Hurling League Permutations:A draw or better in the last game against Offaly will guarantee a final spot for Cork. A defeat would leave Cork hoping Limerick pick up at least a draw against Galway. If Cork lose and Galway win, then Cork will likely miss out on score difference

13 clubs/divisions have played knock-out games in the premier senior since 2020. Nemo have not lost a knockout game, winning the championship on both occasions they emerged from the group. *assumes no draws, team that progressed after ET or penalties deemed winner

Premier Intermediate Football since the introduction of the group stages. Clubs in green are now playing at a higher level and clubs in orange are playing at a lower grade.

Senior A football since introduction of the the group stages. Given the top teams have been promoted out of the grade and can have lower points than teams who have played 12 matches at this level, clubs were sorted based on the % of the maximum possible points won.

@mrcolmcrowley Agree. definitely when the group stages were started in 2020 it was a very strong case for 2 up 2 down as more than 1 club in each grade were at the wrong level. As you say a fr. o neills in hurling, kanturk footballers would have benefitted from promotion sooner.

@corkchamptables 2 up, 2 down would really balance it better I think. A bit more ruthlessness to it but also gives small clubs with a once in a generation panel the chance to move up very quickly, but also revert at a later time

The average winning margin in each and every grade came down this year compared to last year, as teams find their level with promotion/relegation. 7 of the 18 games in the IAFC were decided by 1 point or less.
