@EtherealFalls_ i agree with you. fiction does have an affect on reality but it's not 1:1 so i would say it more so reflects, shapes and can change how people view things. it's never black and white of course. fiction is like a window to already existing attitudes.

I think that in a perfect world. fiction does not affect reality but we don't live in a perfect world and it is irresponsible but claim completely that it doesn't affect it. there's a lot more nuisance to the argument than people will let you believe on twitter.-

@rafd34dgr00m one of the main issues is that they always view these taboo tropes from a personal-freedom or fandom lenses. to them, any ethical or critical comment is quickly labeled as moral policing but never an open door for a discussion about the impact that their fantasies can carry.

we need to talk about the misogyny and the perservation of harmful "tropes" and messages within the otome industry someday

@corpsrot0 oh yea i'm okay <3 this isn't my first rodeo, also not with dark romance xD i'm mostly mourning that we could've had a game which tried to create narratives of healthy relationship growth away from those fantasies, that's my bigger pain point with it

@Nini_Cookie0 i would advise you to probably block/mute that content and people if it becomes too difficult to handle. like sure they can argue whether certain fictional portrayals should exist for hours but ridiculing someone for expressing personal discomfort is so unnecessary and evil.

@corpsrot0 thank you for your sympathy, i've avoided lads community for a long time since whatever was going on wasn't affecting the game, but that changed. too many people like me stayed away from it and it allowed this to happen, i wished i got involved sooner
