Cancer update : first round of chemo in a few hours. I’m pretty nervous about it, but I’m happy to be starting the fight! Please wish me luck. In my mind this is where I’ll be.

@Photo_SteveF I'm at stage VI Pancreatic cancer with similar diagnosis. No surgery but having chemo to shrink my tumors (Liver too). Next week will be #10 for me. Recent CAT shows shrinking. Worst side effect is the neuropathy & constipation. Blessed that I can handle. Be strong!!

Cancer Update : Met with the oncologist last week. I'm still trying to process all of this. It seems I'm not curable, but it is treatable. He said to think of my prognosis in years, but probably not 10. But 10 years ago someone like me would be given 2 years, so things are changing rapidly. Who knows what will be available in a few years. My first treatments are to stop all testosterone production, as that feeds the cancer. That means I'll have extreme fatigue for a while until my body adjusts. Next will be chemo. He said the kind I'm getting is just one medication and that it's usually tolerated well, but there may be some nausia. I will lose my hair, though, which really bums me out. I spent the last 3.5 years growing it out! Oh well, that's the least of my worries. At least I can do Locks for Love and let someone else use it! The chemo will start in about 3 weeks. I'm happy to be starting the treatments, but a little nervous about the side effects. I guess we'll see. I really appreciate the nice messages I've been getting from you all. They mean more to me than you know. Thanks everyone for your support.

@brookbanktv Even my art is OCD impacted. This is a client commission for a box mfg in NJ. My client (CEO) happens to be good friends with the General Mgr. of the Eagles Team. About 2,000 individual pieces went into this project! Also... I cut my grass like that too LOL.
