Calling me a gatekeeper is laughable. I’ve spent the last 12 years building courses to help people become software engineers. I just released a course on Claude Code and how to use it the right way. This isn’t gatekeeping. Just an honest concern. We have a new generation of devs who don’t read books, don’t finish 30% of a course, spend hours on IG and TikTok, and now lean on AI agents to write code they don’t understand. No review. No quality check. They can’t even tell quality from garbage. They just hit Enter like they’re pulling a slot machine. Some may say: “Mosh, why do you care? It’s their app, let them build it however they want.” Here’s why: 1/ It’s not just their app. Their code holds real users’ data (payments, messages, health info, etc). People who never agreed to be test subjects pay the price when things break. 2/ The talent pipeline is a commons. Every senior was once a junior who learned the fundamentals. Skip that for a generation and in 10 years there’s no one left who actually understands the systems everything runs on (banks, hospitals, infrastructure, etc) 3/ They’re being sold a lie. Influencers profit from “you don’t need to learn, just vibe-code.” The devs buying that pitch are the ones who’ll be unemployable when the market corrects and companies realize they need people who can debug, architect, and reason. This isn’t gatekeeping. It’s the opposite! I want this generation to make it. So if you’re starting out: learn the fundamentals, finish what you start, and use AI to amplify real skill, not replace it.

"Do not learn to code" is the worst career advice of the decade. People are telling college students to skip Computer Science because AI will just automate it all. Andrew Ng just killed this myth at Stanford with a brilliant analogy. When he tried to generate images with Midjourney, he typed: "make pretty pictures of robots" and got garbage. His collaborator, however, understood Art History. He knew the exact vocabulary of lighting, genre, and palette. He spoke the "language of art," and generated masterpieces. Andrew Ng is seeing the exact same thing happen in software engineering right now. AI didn't replace the need to understand Computer Science. It made Computer Science the required vocabulary to control the AI. If you don't understand how computers actually work, you are just typing "make a pretty app" into Cursor and shipping fragile, unscalable logic. Here is Andrew Ng's exact hiring hierarchy today: Level 1: 10 years of experience, but codes by hand (He won't hire them). Level 2: Fresh college grad, but highly fluent in AI-assisted coding (He hires them over the 10-year veteran). Level 3 (God Tier): Deeply understands CS fundamentals AND uses AI-assisted coding. When humanity went from punch cards to keyboards, coding got easier, and more people coded. We are at that exact inflection point again. AI doesn't replace fundamentals. It multiplies them.

Un amigo mío que es pastor bautista me mandó esta fotografía cuando yo le hablé de las divisiones entre los protestantes (miles de denominaciones que predican cosas muy distintas). Mi amigo me mandó esta fotografía como si fuese "la refutación" al tema de las divisiones entre los protestantes y evangélicos. Sin embargo, he visto esta foto en las redes por muchos meses y creo que es momento de decir algo al respecto. 1) "Mal de muchos consuelo de tontos". Que otros estén divididos no justifica "mis divisiones". Voy a poner una analogía: si mi padre es un borracho y un violador (que gracias a Dios no lo fue, pero es solo un ejemplo), cuando alguien viene y me dice que mi padre es lo que es, sería absurdo decirle a esa persona "bueno, pero tu padre también es un borracho y un violador". En fin...una cosa no quita la otra. Afirmando la borrachera e inmoralidad de otros padres no va a quitar que mi padre es lo que es. Que los ortodoxos y los católicos estemos divididos no quita que hay miles de divisiones entre los protestantes y todos se contradicen entre sí. Por lo tanto...el problema permanece igual que antes. 2) Hay una imprecisión en esta fotografía y es que pone a los católicos de la FSSPX como si no fuesen católicos romanos. Los católicos de la FSSPX son católicos romanos con problemas disciplinares. Sin embargo, que haya problemas disciplinares (de obediencia) no quita que sean católicos. Esta imprecisión es una de las tantas, lo cual quiere decir que quien hizo esta fotografía dice "medias verdades" (que termina siendo un gran mentira). 3) El hecho de que las Iglesias ortodoxas y los católicos nos hayamos anatematizados no quiere decir que una de ellas no tenga razón. Si hay 10 personas que se gritan unas a otras y todas dicen cosas contradictorias, una de ellas tiene razón y las demás están erradas. Nótese que dije cosas contradictorias, no contrarias. Una cosa contraria es, por ejemplo: uno dice que el cielo es rojo y otro dice que es verde. Los dos pueden estar equivocados en este caso. Sin embargo, si alguien dice "esto es un perro" y otra persona dice "esto no es un perro", ahí uno de los dos tiene que tener razón, ya que o se es perro o no se es, pero no hay termino medio entre ser y no ser. Dicho esto, si las Iglesias (católica y ortodoxa) decimos cosas contradictorias, una es la que tiene razón y las demás están erradas. El punto es debatir quien tiene razón y quien no la tiene. 4) Si ninguna de las Iglesias tuviese la razón, entonces el cristianismo es falso ya que Cristo dijo: "Padre, que todos sean uno como tú y yo somos uno". Esto no se hubiese cumplido porque todos estarían equivocados y divididos en el error, no en la verdad. De la misma manera, el Espíritu Santo (que es el espíritu de unidad) no habría estado protegiendo a la su Iglesia del error, lo cual implica que tampoco esta otra promesa de Cristo (de que el Paráclito les enseñará todo) se habría cumplido. De ser así el cristianismo sería falso, y esto no es posible porque sabemos que Cristo siendo Dios no puede errar ni engañar. Ergo, el problema no es que las Iglesias ortodoxas y la católica se hayan anatematizado sino ver quien tiene razón. Los católicos estamos convencidos de que la verdad está en la Iglesia Católica y que esta fue la fundada por Jesucristo (algo que obviamente, hay que probar. Para eso está la apologética. Sobre esto, recomiendo el excelente libro de Dante Urbina cuyo título es "Cuál es la Igesia verdadera"). 5) Cuando un protestante me dice "los ortodoxos y los católicos se anatematizaron" mi respuesta es siempre la misma: en todo caso, eso lo discutimos entre los católicos y los ortodoxos que estamos desde el principio. Los protestantes nacidos en el siglo XVI y sus miles de ramificaciones con sus miles de doctrinas contradictorias son los primeros que, evidentemente, están en el error, puesto que las distintas divisiones entre ellos muestran que allí el Espíritu Santo no puede estar de ninguna manera. Sobre todo, porque el Espíritu Santo no pudo haber estado dormido 15 siglos hasta la venida del ex fraile agustino. Ergo, en todo caso la discusión de "cuál es la Iglesia verdadera" queda entre los católicos y los ortodoxos. Protestantes, evangélicos y las miles de denominaciones que se contradicen unas a otras quedan excluidas del vamos. 6) La Iglesia Católica romana no es romana, sino que tiene 24 ritos. El romano es uno, pero luego está el bizantino, el armenio, el copto, etc. Todos están bajo la autoridad del romano pontífice, pero todos esos ritos son católicos. Por lo tanto, decir "los romanos" solo a secas es erróneo (otra imprecisión de esta fotografía, de las tantas). Conclusión: mi amigo el pastor bautista, aunque no se convenció de hacerse católico, este razonamiento le pareció con lógica. Se lo comparto a ustedes no necesariamente para que estén de acuerdo, sino simplemente para que sepan que esta fotografía, aún con lo bonita que se muestra, está llena de inconsistencias.
