This sounds emotionally compelling, but it leans more on optics than substance. Peter Obi is reducing leadership to physical presence, as if visiting a tragedy scene is what solves insecurity. In reality, decisions around such visits are often based on security intelligence and logistics, not indifference. Leadership is measured by actions taken, not just appearances. There’s also a pattern of selective outrage here. These strong statements tend to come when it’s politically convenient, which makes the concern feel less consistent and more strategic. More importantly, the post offers no real solutions. It highlights pain which is valid but says nothing about how to fix the problem. That’s the gap. Criticizing Bola Ahmed Tinubu is easy, but proposing clear, practical steps to address insecurity is what truly defines the leadership you are talking about

Leadership Without Compassion is Not Leadership During his visit to Benue State in June 2025, Bola Ahmed Tinubu stopped at the Government House but did not go to the actual scene where innocent Nigerians lost their lives. Similarly, yesterday in Jos, his engagement ended at the airport instead of at the affected communities. What happened in Plateau yesterday highlights a complete absence of leadership. True leadership requires presence, empathy, compassion, and a willingness to meet people where their pain truly lies. For citizens who have just lost loved ones, homes, and their sense of safety, being addressed from an airport tarmac is profoundly inadequate. This approach exacerbates the sense of abandonment already felt by innocent Nigerians who have endured repeated cycles of violence without meaningful protection or justice. Plateau deserves more than distant words; it requires urgent action and a clear commitment to ending the insecurity that continues to claim innocent lives. In such moments, leadership must not only be visible but also tangible—standing with victims, listening to survivors, and acknowledging the depth of their grief. If we truly desire a better Nigeria, we must demand leadership that is present, responsive, and responsible at all times. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

@PeterObi I remember there was a witness from AWS in the presidential court trials, and they testified that all AWS servers were up and running that day. So where is the glitch from, definitely man made. We ignore important things like this and yet expect the country to move forward.

Reflecting on the 'Coup Glitches' in Guinea-Bissau On Thursday, November 27th, I arrived in Abuja early in the morning after attending a productive meeting at the European Parliament. To my distress, I learned that our former President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, was caught up in the reported coup situation in Guinea-Bissau. I immediately reached out to him, and he assured me that he was safe. I was further relieved to hear that he had returned safely to Nigeria. I listened carefully to his press briefing about the incident. Dr. @GEJonathan, who was in Guinea-Bissau as an election monitor, noted that the so-called coup appeared suspicious—especially because it was the president himself who announced the coup and shared details with the international community. What makes the situation even more striking is that the election was reportedly peaceful, with the only remaining step being the formal announcement of the results. It is safe to say that while Nigeria's own election was marred by a "technical glitch," the election in Guinea-Bissau seems to have suffered from a "coup glitch." Yet, to this day, no one has clearly explained the nature of Nigeria's glitch. ECOWAS was quick to sanction Guinea-Bissau, but what does ECOWAS do when democracy is subverted not by soldiers, but by technology? What is the punishment for countries that announce 'glitches' at critical moments during an election? Do we only condemn coups that are visible with guns and ignore those carried out through a designed technical failures? By addressing these issues constructively, we can work towards a New Nigeria and a more stable and democratic West Africa. Together, we can ensure that the will of the people prevails and that our elections reflect the true desires of our citizens. The Guinea-Bissau scenarios represent two faces of the same crisis: one where ballots are discarded by force and another where ballots are obstructed by convenient technical issues. In both cases, the people suffer, democracy is undermined, and the region sinks deeper into instability. The outcome remains the same: the citizens are denied their mandate. True democracy can only thrive when transparency and accountability prevail, and when the voice of the people is respected, not interrupted by glitches or coups. A New Nigeria is Possible. -PO

When Those Who Save Us Are Not Safe: The Abduction of Dr Mbanugo While still urging our government to engage the American government - through diplomatic means and otherwise - in helping us contain the rising wave of insecurity ravaging our nation, which has sadly made Nigeria one of the most insecure places in the world, I wish once again to draw attention to areas that require our immediate and collective action. The kidnapping of Dr Tochukwu Mbanugo, a Consultant Neurosurgeon at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, shortly after an intensive day of saving lives in the operating theatre, including the successful removal of a complex brain tumour, is deeply worrisome. His abduction is not just an attack on one man; it is an attack on our already fragile healthcare system, and on the hope of millions of Nigerians who depend on the selfless service of our few remaining specialists. In a country of over 200 million people, we have fewer than 150 neurosurgeons - meaning there is approximately one brain surgeon for every 1.9 million Nigerians - where the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends at least one neurosurgeon per 100,000 people. This enormous gap highlights the sacrifices and pressure our doctors face daily, and the severe consequences of insecurity, which continues to drive many of them away. We must ensure the safe and immediate release of Dr Tochukwu, and I urge the security agencies to act swiftly. No nation can develop when its brightest minds live in fear. We must protect all, especially those who dedicate their lives to saving ours. -PO

@AdeHardemola @PeterObi It's a pity so many people die every day not of natural course and many people like you are normalizing death, we just count deaths in numbers these days and one death now seems meaningless to people like you.

Rest in Peace, Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu I am deeply saddened by the tragic and untimely death of Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, a brilliant young anchor with Arise News, who was killed in the most painful circumstances during a robbery attack in Abuja. At only 29, Somtochukwu had already distinguished herself as a gifted broadcaster and trained lawyer whose voice engaged, informed, and inspired many. Her loss is not only a personal tragedy to her family and colleagues but also a huge blow to journalism and to our nation, which continues to lose its brightest to insecurity and violence. This heartbreaking incident once again highlights the urgent need for us as a country to prioritise the safety and security of every citizen. No Nigerian should go to bed fearful of what the night may bring, or lose their life in such senseless ways. My thoughts and prayers are with her grieving family, the Arise News family, and all who mourn her. May her soul rest in peace, and may we, as a nation, work harder to build a country where lives are valued and protected. -PO

the CLEAREST path to building a $100k MRR mobile app (from a guy who's advised apps that have gotten hundreds of millions of downloads) step 1: pick a habit (already crushing) – the fastest path to $100k MRR isn’t inventing something new, it’s cloning what already works. – proven habit categories: fitness, journaling, language, meditation, finance. – people already pay here, they expect daily use, and habits = sticky revenue. step 2: add the AI unlock – once you’ve got the habit, layer AI on top to create a “wow” moment competitors don’t have. – examples: • journaling app → AI reflects back themes in your writing like a therapist • fitness app → AI vision corrects your form in real time • finance app → AI predicts overspending before it happens • language app → AI roleplays conversations in voice/video step 3: freemium + subscription model – free tier must give immediate value (otherwise no word-of-mouth, no viral content). – paywall for deeper features or unlimited usage. – price:~ $5/week – annual plans with discounts (40–50%) drive cash upfront. - test copy, screenshots, paywall timing relentlessly. it can 3–5x your LTV. step 4: distribution = TikTok + IG + creators – build a playbook of 20+ organic TikTok/IG posts tied to your use case (Duolingo memes, Notion desk setups, Strava challenges). – hire a part-time creator (or be one) pumping out 3–5 clips a week. volume matters. – partner with micro-influencers (10k–100k) who feel authentic to your niche... stay true to a CPM that works for you ~$5 for example – run paid TikTok/IG ads → optimize for cheap installs (<$2). - start with English-speaking Tier 1 markets for ARPU, but layer Tier 2 markets for cheap volume. you’ll find CPI in LatAm/India <$1. Even Canada, Australia etc are cheaper than the US. step 5: paid search/ASO - apple search ads and google uac are the hidden workhorses for mobile apps. - search ads catch users with high intent right in the app store (“journaling app,” “habit tracker”) and consistently convert 2–3x better than social, while uac spreads across google, youtube, and play store to drive cheap installs at scale (especially in tier 2 markets). - pair both with aso (titles, screenshots, reviews) so the keywords you buy also lift your organic rankings. step 6: retarget everything – pixel every install/visit and run retargeting on TikTok, IG, YouTube, Reddit. – 90% of users won’t pay on day 1. retarget with product clips + testimonials. – cost of acquisition drops dramatically once you layer retargeting across channels. - implement Amplitude/Mixpanel, Firebase, Superwall, RevenueCat early so you actually know which creative, cohorts, and experiments are moving numbers. step 7: design viral loops inside the product – exportable content: if it’s fitness → progress screenshots, if it’s journaling → daily streaks, if it’s learning → shareable quizzes. – leaderboards, streaks, or badges that push people to flex on social. – make sharing feel like part of the product experience, not an afterthought. step 8: retention flywheel – onboarding is everything. get to the “aha” moment in <2 minutes. – nudge users with daily push notifications that feel like a friend, not spam. – weekly emails with progress reports (“you saved 4 hours this week” / “you learned 27 new words”). – community layer (Discord/Reddit-style group) to reinforce habit loops. math to $100k MRR (at $5/week, $4 CPI) $5/week ≈ $22/mo per sub. need ~4.6k paying subs to hit $100k MRR. at 8–10% conversion → need 46–58k active installs. assume ~50% of installs stay active → ~92–116k total installs. at $4 CPI → $368k–$464k in ad spend (gross). so: $400k-ish in paid media to reach $100k MRR at $4 CPI… unless you juice it with organic virality, influencers, or geo-arbitrage (Tier 2 markets <$1 CPI). tldr; - app store gold rush 2.0 is here. ai + paid search + aso = unfair leverage. the window won’t stay open long. - find ideas in your own life or grab them from @ideabrowser's website (free/paid plans) - note: building any startup isn't easy - mobile apps felt dead for years. now they’re alive again. - this is the most generational time to build since 2008-2013 mobile app heyday. people will make fun how long this tweet is. but if you've gotten this far... i hope this fires you up i hope this gets your creative juices i hope you share this with a friend happy building i'm rooting for you.

Today, I with Dr @YunusaTanko , Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Vivour @GRVlagos and Segun Adebanjo visited President Obasanjo on a courtesy visit. Thereafter, we visited the new Olubadan of Ibadan kabiyesi Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja. In both visits, we were fortunate to discuss the state of our nation and how all of us can live in unity, love, fairness and justice progressively together. The meetings make me believe that coming together of a competent team with capacity, compassion, and commitment to build a new Nigeria that is POssible. -PO
