All my life I’ve had one dream: to achieve my many goals. On Twitter and for that matter Earth to make wisecracks and defend the vulnerable. What’s a “DM”? 🤔

Sometimes we post just to memorialize things, and thus I carve this in electrons: I think Trump is weak, dumb, corrupt, and will be a do nothing president (again). However he is president, so I sincerely wish him great success in producing liberty, equality, peace and prosperity.

@Zedagain @dotkrueger Ok I can see that. The ark. But assuming we can pull off that project in the throes of extinction is waaaay optimistic!

@cothtwit @dotkrueger We haven’t put a lot of effort into defining what would necessitate the diaspora attempt but assume things are dire. This isn’t happening without great cause.

We're not going to travel beyond the solar system, according to Leonard Susskind. And neither are aliens, coming to visit us. We may not be alone, but we are stuck here for, essentially forever. 1. The nearest star is 4.24 light years away. The fastest spacecraft ever built would require 6,600 years to get there. 2. Surely we can just build faster spacecraft. The problem is to get to anywhere close to the speed of light, we need exponentially more energy. 3. Chemical rockets will just not work. Even fusion rockets won't work. Even 10% of the speed of light is not achievable. The Tsiolkovsky Rocket Equation prevents it. 4. Interstellar dust becomes hand grenades when traveling anywhere close to the speed of light. Ships break. 5. Space radiation will kill us over the time need to travel interstellar distances. Impossible to protect without massive shields, which require massive energy to accelerate and de-accelerate.

@Olorin_TheGrey @Cato_Rising @atrupar Shelon’s insistence on hiding his homosexuality is having a direct impact on rocket design: he is afraid of seeming obsessed with penis shaped objects. So again his problem is not homosexuality, but his public denial that makes him agonize in private.

@dimitri_12345 @dotkrueger Way, way different physics problem. Birds, bats and bugs all have heavier than air flight capabilities. It obviously can be done and we knew it. Nothing travels from one solar system to another except light.

@Zedagain @dotkrueger And who is signing up for that? Living in a cage your entire life, condemning you child, grandchild, etc beyond your great great great great great great grandchild to a completely inhuman existence? To do what? Arrive at another star, and then…? Come back? Self destruct?

@dotkrueger Generation ships cure every issue. Big enough for shields, big enough to seriously gain momentum with solar sling shotting, big enough to maintain communication, big enough to carry energy screens and proper ice armor that can be repaired and expanded for needs.

@martianwyrdlord @TyGrateful Yeah no. The laws of physics and the increased mass with increased acceleration make interstellar travel impossible. Period.

We're not going to cross the Atlantic ocean. 1. No one has any idea how far away the nearest land is. It could be thousands of miles! 2. Surely we can just build faster caravels? The problem is that wind can only push you so fast. 3. There are no landmarks out on the ocean. Sure you can use the stars to determine your latitude, but with no way of knowing your longitude you'll just get hopelessly lost. 4. The storms are ferociously powerful. The waves are huge. Ships would sink long before they reached the other side of the ocean. 5. There's no fresh water. You'd need to carry it all with you, along with all your food. The more stores you carry, the less capable wind is of propelling you, and the slower you go. There's no way you'd be able to carry enough to avoid death by thirst or starvation long before you reached land. The Sail Equation prevents it.

A human problem solved in the Bible - When a man rapes a virgin, he has to pay a ransom to her father and she has to marry him. - How to beat your slave without being punished. - Kill all the defeated enemies, except the virgins to be kept as sex slaves.
David Fischer@DavidFischer

The Bible is the most spectacular & greatest book ever to exist No book has been translated, copied, or read as much as the Bible 66 books, 35 authors, 5,000 years of history Every human problem can be answered in the Bible So why aren’t students being taught the Bible?

@cothtwit @Cato_Rising @atrupar 1. There are nearly 200 ambassadors to the US. 2. Knowing who the Vatican currently has appointed to serve as the Apostolic Nuncio to the US has zero relevance to being Catholic. 3. Archbishop Gabriele Giordano Caccia is the Apostolic Nuncio to the US, not Cardinal Pierre.

@sueaham @kaizen000000000 Ok got it. True enough cancer is being “fed” by environmental toxins. But greed is less a factor in human suffering than just pure random chance, I think we’d both agree. No one deserves to be born, period. And no religion offers any rational explanation for why us, good or bad.

They were talking about how we have more cancer now than before. There is correlation with air poisoning, medicine/drugs, exposure to certain animals etc that result in certain defective births. But you are right not all the time but then we can also ask why were some people born in wealthy families and others not? Why were some people born more intelligent? There are different type of sufferings in the world, why do some people experience those and not others. What I added at the end of that statement, if you are a religious person, is that our response to these things determine how we are judged at the end of times. I was responding to the video and disagreeing with the notion that god is angry with us therefore he brought cancer upon us… etc. Which is what the older guy was implying.

@GandalfTheR3d @kaizen000000000 But the child as an individual is innocent. So you believe to extort prayers from the parents, maybe,or punish their long dead ancestors, God kills an innocent child in an immensely painful manner. Yeah I don’t think I’m going to offer thanks or praise to your God any time soon.

@kaizen000000000 Yes, a child with cancer has cancer because of not only what his ancestors did, but because of what his parents were still doing. Sin is a spiritual illness that carries over into the physical. All sin starts in the mind, and manifests through the actions of the hands.

@Zweli1824 @kaizen000000000 No. Who is assuming God cares about you. His position is simple: what is RATIONAL if God is truly all powerful and loving? Personally my question for all religious people: why did God create the universe anyway? What’s in it for him? Was he bored? Was he lonely? Wassup ?

@kaizen000000000 I don’t get this arguement. Assume God is real, then immediately grant that if he was real you would know better than him in creating a world with sentient life. Just seems like ego
