One Voice, One Choice
I am one voice. You are one voice. None of us can single-handedly extinguish the fires raging across the nation. But each of us has a choice in how we speak, how we respond, and what we amplify.
The temptation will always be to echo the chaos, to harden our tribes, to double down on contempt. The alternative is harder: to speak more intentionally, to listen more deeply, to guard against the allure of scapegoating, and to remember that grief is not a sign of weakness.
A culture that cannot grieve will not heal. A culture that cannot control its anger will eventually destroy itself. And a culture that refuses to see the humanity in its opponents will lose sight of its own in the process.
If there is any difference one voice can make, it is to call us back to this recognition: that before we are partisans, we are people. Before we are tribes, we are neighbors. And before we are slogans, we are human beings who bleed, who grieve, and who yearn for something better than endless cycles of rage.
That might not be the loudest voice in the room. But it could be the most necessary.
