Léger débat 👀 Si demain, on vous proposait de faire revenir n’importe quel ancien joueur au club avec le niveau qu’il avait chez nous, qui choisiriez-vous ? PS : Bien évidemment, interdiction de répondre Rúben Neves 🙃

@OldWolfie75 @Wolves @CesarPeixoto8 Don’t like the CBs tbh. Mosquera will be sent off more due to the physicality of the champ. Santi will get bullied and too slow in a back 4. Toti is useless. Doyle can’t get in a Brum team. Also unsure if Rodrigo or Fer can stand up to the physicality of the champ.

Possible @Wolves lineup under @CesarPeixoto8. GK RB Trippier Toti/S. Bueno/Mosquera Wolfe Doyle Andre Lopez Mane R. Gomes Armstrong/RJ9 Unsure on GK or RB as not itk of who we are after. That 3 behind Armstrong/Jimenez is 🔥. What do people think? Obvs need depth #wwfc

@TalkingWolves Not sure why we’re pushing so hard for this deal when we have so many RBs including a new signing in Trippier.

@SkyJohnnyP Thought our finances were in order. The club stated if we get relegated we would be fine due to the money made from sales?

@_AlwaysWolves Great to finally have someone running the club who makes proactive decisions instead of always reactive like the previous leadership. Well done NS.

Rob Edwards departure now confirmed by Wolves, here's what Nathan Shi said: “I would like to personally thank Rob and his staff for everything they have given to Wolves during what has been a very difficult period in the club’s recent history. “Rob accepted the challenge of returning to Wolves at a time when the situation was extremely challenging, and throughout his time here he has conducted himself with professionalism, integrity and commitment. “This has been an extremely difficult decision. Following the end of the season, we undertook a thorough review of every aspect of the football operation. “This process involved careful consideration of many factors and extensive reflection on what we believe is required to help the club progress over the coming years. “Our decision was not about character, professionalism or dedication. It was about determining what we believe gives Wolves the strongest opportunity to move forward from a sporting perspective. “While there were positive signs and areas of progress, we ultimately concluded that a different football direction would better align with the style, identity and level of competitiveness we want to establish at the club. “It would have been easier to continue with what was familiar. However, leadership is not about choosing the easiest path, but about making the difficult decisions we believe are right for the future of the football club which will put Wolves on the strongest platform to move forward. “Our ambition is to build a football club capable of achieving sustainable success. That requires clarity of vision, alignment throughout the football operation and the courage to make difficult decisions when we believe they are in the best interests of the club.” #wwfc

Just imagined something like this with a new CB (or 2 if Santi goes) and some more depth. Not bad for a team that was remarkably lacking quality last season. 😮‍💨

@SkySportsNews He will play 5 at the back again at home to Sunderland with long balls upto the shortest striker in the league. Don’t tell me you’re getting the most out of this squad.

@TheAthleticFC @SteveMadeley78 Just don’t let him have any say in transfers. One of the main reasons Wolves are in the situation they are is because of the players he insisted on bringing in.

Vitor Pereira has been appointed Nottingham Forest head coach on an 18-month contract. But what can they expect? 🔺 Similarities (and differences) to Nuno Espirito Santo 🔺 Galvanised Wolves squad in first season 🔺 ‘First the points, then the pints’ 🔺 Worked for Evangelos Marinakis at Olympiacos 🔺 Can be a volatile character ✍️ @SteveMadeley78 🔗 nytimes.com/athletic/70416…

Rob Edwards 🗣️ "It's frustrating. Liverpool can force you back and we weren't able to keep it on the transition. You can concede a goal and then to concede again after a minute is criminal. We adjusted Mane's position, who I thought was brilliant. We didn't win the game but we won the second half. "[Jeremie] Frimpong has amazing speed on the outside and we had numbers back. The second goal was frustrating. We didn't win enough duels and we didn't compete well enough. We got caught for the second goal. The reaction from them was excellent. We got stronger as the half went on. On Mateus Mane: "I thought he was excellent. A big plus for us. It's about getting the timing right for when he starts and he's earned it. "We're trying. The staff are working really hard and the players are giving everything. They're not caving in and going under. They're trying and there are signs of improvement there. This game is about points and we've not been able to get them." #wwfc

Rob Edwards 🗣️ •On team news: "Toti's a no, he's out for a significant period of time with his hamstrings, so it'll be weeks. And Hugo [Bueno] trained today so we'll see how he progresses throughout the next few days, but we're hopeful for him." •Edwards revealed that the squad has been stretched physically, explaining they have "had a couple of muscle injuries over the last few weeks", adding that they have been "pushing hard" and may have "risked one or two bits". •On January transfer window plans: "We're due to catch up this week, and there are conversations ongoing now with Nathan [Shi] and the rest of the team around that on the strategy going forward. So as these next couple of days go on, I think I'll hopefully speak to him and find out a little bit more on it, but that's only going to be a good thing." •Looking ahead to January, Edwards said "every situation in January" would be dealt with "on an individual basis" and acknowledged the likelihood of "interest" in one of his players, despite admitting the club is "in the situation that we're in". •Edwards said the transfer talk "doesn't concern" him, with his focus instead on "trying to just get the best out of people and trying to find a way to lift one or two". •On the job proving tougher than anticipated: "I knew it was going to be really difficult, really challenging. Obviously, the results haven't turned, and that's really tough, and that's frustrating. But we are working extremely hard, we're seeing levels improving in training, we are seeing things that we want to see on a more regular basis, a bit more consistency." •Reflecting on recent performances, Edwards pointed to fine margins, saying his side have been involved in "a lot of quite tight games", but that "moments have affected us, and we've come off the wrong end of the results". •On Mateus Mane: "He's certainly getting to the point at the moment where you're looking like, thinking, the kid's looking ready. He looks like he's looking like he can affect the game, which is really encouraging for us. So he's getting more and more time as the weeks go on. He keeps going the way he is and keeps training the way he is, then he'll earn his start, there's no doubt about it." •On playing Liverpool: "Just thinking about the game itself. We're looking forward to another really difficult game, but going to Anfield is always enjoyable; it's a real challenge, it's one of the most difficult ones, but one of the ones you look to. It's always an incredible atmosphere there. It's just another game, another opportunity for us." #wwfc

@Wolves You have chosen a keeper who hoofs it at every opportunity. It starts from the back. We fart around at the back and in the middle then it goes back to the keeper who hoofs it then we’re on the defence again. It ain’t rocket science!!!
