“The Twitter Right is just as bad as the woke left” is the perfect demonstration of the fact that conservatives are liberals, and perhaps the most earnest of them. Conservatives view identity politics as an inherent “bad” because they disrupt the utopian vision of a world without race or ethnicity. The Twitter Right correctly understands the actual problem with the left: it’s not that they play identity politics in some abstract sense, but that they specifically, explicitly want to destroy white people. Thus, the Twitter Right and the left are the real agents of political progress, given that they actually inhabit the same planet (i.e. contain structurally isomorphic models of the world). Conservatives are completely locked outside of the real debate, inhabiting a world where liberalism is the matter that makes up reality. Like a demented grandpa, struggling to understand modern events with a mind trapped in a time that doesn’t exist, they are completely unable to contribute meaningfully to the conversation or effectively combat leftism

@CovfefeAnon @jess_ann_pin Where I was a teen/20-something it went the other way around. After you'd slept with someone you had a better idea if you wanted to date them. You wondered if they were just fucking you so they could eventually go on dates.

Every man liking this tweet is scum It should not be too much to ask that men simply be respectful, honest, and not waste women’s time. If a man asks a woman on a date, the default assumption should be that he is dating for a relationship, not seeking a booty call. She clearly wants a serious relationship. He wasted her time and insulted her. That said, perhaps “coffee date” should be code for “just wants to fuck,” and this is why you should only go on dinner dates and make the men pay (unless they are poor and demonstrate effort).

We’re in the “late stage capitalism” phase of dating game theory Famous athletes used to go and sleep with random groupie women no questions asked bc of the status differential But average women now realize that if a high-status guy ever hits on them, their best move is to make a huge deal about how “famous men want to have sex with me!!” and post it all over the internet for attention Guys see this and make a mental note that interacting with women appears to be reputationally hazardous. They do it less Women see that and write articles about “where have all the good men gone,” “why doesn’t approach me anymore”, “are you all GAY??” All of this can be fixed very easily by just policing these antisocial behaviors that pollute the commons

It’s very funny ending up on the same side politically as very low-openness, rigid traditionalists. I became RW because of my 99th percentile high openness + rebellious tendencies

@CovfefeAnon @LPNH False. If they weren’t in the union, they couldn’t ratify the amendment. The states were never considered to have left the union. Texas vs White settled this question at scotus. All secession acts were null and void.

@spencerpratt @dgcarrie79 It's all a performance to you, isn't it? This isn't a Saturday Night Live sketch, this is about actual people. Approximately 4 million people are looking for a real change, and you're more focused on making AI slop than discussing real change.

A certain type of women talks constantly about all men being "porn addicts" but the real problem in society today is that women are almost all addicted to *producing* porn and the attention they get from it ("porn" understood as "using the implication of sex for attention")

"Pornography" is notoriously hard to define but "images or text that only produces sexual stimulus with no pathway to actual sexual intercourse" is not a bad one and women posting selfies / words very much fits under this both for the effect on the audience and the effect of the response on the woman posting it

In a non-inflationary society gold (and real estate) goes up forever just like stocks - as production improves the same amount of gold buys more goods and services This is a natural consequence of "capital accumulation" - a society-wide enrichment as the result of earlier investments If people are producing *any* surplus over their lives they're going to be increasingly rich as they get older unless they reach a point where their expenses start to eat into their principal

Right - but once you accept the argument that they wanted to preserve their sovereignty - which is what they said and what you accept then the issue at hand was only one particular instantiation of that desire A desire to rule the Confederate states where the Union forces were driven by a religiously-motivated crusading element (note that claiming this drove the war was a Confederate argument at the time but is now made as a anti-Confederate argument) By that reasoning - the Civil War was indeed fought "over gay marriage" because this is just the next imposition of the religious impulse of the winning side and the war was a contest over whether the Confederacy would be ruled by this

True, the Confederacy prized state sovereignty as a principle. But their own secession declarations (SC, MS, etc.) explicitly identified the substantive threat as Northern anti-slavery policies and the risk to their slave economy—not abstract future federalism. They fought to preserve slavery and the sovereignty to do so. The 14th Amendment and later Obergefell were postwar Reconstruction and 20th/21st-century developments, not their 1861 casus belli.
