When trying these three next to each other, you get a load of similarity. #3 Yesteryear. Nose: Sweet pastry and Playdoh, custard tarts and soft spice. Palate: Cinnamon-spiced pastry and mint imperials. Finish: More mints and cinnamon toast #TLDCWhisky

I like this 1st fill Sherry Embarque a lot. In my old(er) age I am liking sherry more than I used to. All your usual Sherry notes plus some interesting ones. Play-doh is a first time note for me #TLDCWhisky

Time for #2: Embarque. Nose: more custardy notes, as well as well-done-but-not-burnt toast, cherry jam, Mr Kipling Country Slices. Palate: Dark, singed raisins and char, soft spice, dark chocolate and minty hints. Finish: minty dark choc and char #TLDCWhisky

Kicking off with Ten Times Round the Sun. Only been waiting 12 years for this. Nose: Custard tarts, a hint of lime, cinnamon toast and brown sugar. Palate: Loads of brown sugar (almost US rye-like) bready grain and hints of mint choc. Finish: Minty with more chocolate #TLDCWhisky

I bought it at a tasting hosted by my old mukka @cowfish The nose has echoes of @BalconesWhisky Brimstone (which I like), but it’s very accessible, a real delight at around £65 if I remember rightly. 191/315 54.7% 😀👍🏼

Tonight is not about challenge, it’s about simplicity, fun & enjoyment. An eclectic selection working well with the chocolate in the @vocationbrewery stout. I never really jumped on the Daftmill bandwagon, but it’s a “nice” dram. Have a good one folks Sláinte 😀👍🏼
