i would like to preface this by saying: Yes, the MMR reset was absolutely necessary. Yes, lobbies would look very "peculiar" at the beginning. Yes, we were all ready to play with worse players for the greater good of ranked. what the fuck is this

@KonssnoK @Elolesio_ And it really does go further than that, and as any business, Riot has a clear incentive to keep players playing their game, so I would rather even call it this aforementioned in-game “behavior” not just performance.

@KonssnoK @Elolesio_ “Suppression” arises from this horizontal aspect or axis of matchmaking (vs. purely vertical, actual rank & MMR), where players are also matched/grouped together based on their performance. It used to be that you can blitz through ranks, but because of this not as easily anymore.

Any belief in LoseQ comes from fundamentally not understanding, how LoL works, and what is consistency, variance and adaptability Good players know what these concepts are, and thats why only low elos think that it exists 1 hour with a 10$ coach can cure anyone from this belief

No existe la LosingQ. Existe la SerMaloQ. Nuestro cerebro es un mecanismo perfectamente diseñado para justificar nuestros resultados en fallas ajenas. Una vez entiendes y superas eso, todo cambia. RIOT DAME A TUS PEORES SOLDADOS. LOS LLEVARÉ ORGULLOSO A LA VICTORIA.

@KonssnoK @Elolesio_ Indeed it is my personal experience, and in a way it's my testimony of what I've witnessed continuously in mine and other people's games. We should also not forget the ever changing nature of the matchmaking algorithm, the endless iterations that it goes through, time after time.

@coyoteirl @Elolesio_ this is just your personal experience and idea.. instead i actually studied what happens across 1 million games of random people, that is not a thing.

@KonssnoK @Elolesio_ One thing I didn't touch on is ranked journey and how whether you won/lost a specific game does determine what kind of players you're gonna get in your next games. This also seems to heavily influence it, and it's like you only need to fuck up once and now you've got hurdles

@KonssnoK @Elolesio_ Then why can I significantly alter what teams I'm gonna get next by running inside enemy jg and placing wards n maximizing vision score in games I know are gonna be 99% lost vs. hard losing those games and going 0/11 in them

@Elolesio_ LosersQ/WinnersQ is a very binary way of looking at it. I think a more useful perspective is to view the ladder/the plethora of possible games that can be matchmade as having two axis: rank and this in-game “behavior” which is calculated from all the tiny stats from each game.

@Elolesio_ If don't want to receive LosersQ (a.k.a be grouped together with other losers): Do not overplay, and be cognizant of your scores, kda, cs, vision score etc. And be constantly maxing them out throughout the entire game, because that also makes up the calculation of your “behavior”

@MiaSkylar Even as I wholeheartedly believe and stand by this very statement, and there is no true justification for an opposite stance to have, I am in awe how a fake screenshot is stirring up these type of discussions.

El losing queue deberia ser ilegal y convertir cualquier juego al que juegan niños en una tragaperras encubierta con estrategias sacadas de la industria de los juegos de azar debería ser un delito.

@goodvibesNA @palcopaint too many parallels can be draw between the state of matchmaking and ai slop. waiting as little as 1 sec in queue, outcome is some kind of abomination in quality, purpose etc. i swear, some matchmade games that i've seen should have never seen the light of day.

@coyoteirl @palcopaint Essentially rendering this reset superfluous. Players don't actually WANT a reset. What they want is a more narrow matchmaking ELO range to improve game quality. (3/3)

I know Riot said that it will be chaos after the reset, but idk. I can't help but feel like this was a bad idea. This is the worst game quality I have ever experienced in my entire life and playing it daily for multiple days in a row is making it really hard to stomach it.

Reddit would deadass look you in the eye and say all these were winnable, you didn’t cs enough and there is no problem with matchmaking

@goodvibesNA @palcopaint so starting with season 16. i really believe that matchmaking had reached a good state finally around oct-nov of last year, and now we have decided to start from scratch, for some ungodly reason

@coyoteirl @palcopaint Riot lost the plot when they started prioritizing lower queue times over competitive integrity and rank game quality.

@palcopaint tbh idk how much this applies to na vs. euw, but since matchmaking is the same (same incentives and rules on how it matches people together in the same team), probably very similar behaviors and game quality arising from those can be observed there too.

@palcopaint let's not misconstrue this: the game quality in question is bad and has been bad for ages and is constantly bad in low master, and it is due to players' mentalities more than their actual ability to perform. matchmaking allowing large rank disparity doesn't help either, though.
