@GoranSlav @footballnsw Why is this even called a ‘challenge’? The ball isn’t even in the shot, it’s just an unwarranted assault 🤣

A horror challenge on Sutherlands Jamie Percevski last night was ugly. Rash, Reckless and uncalled for, the NPL is tough, but that crossed the line. Players deserve better protection and @footballnsw need to make a stance with a long suspension for the player guilty #npl #nplnsw

@CallumHallett6 Not convinced by it at all to be honest, especially when we had a tried and tested midfield pairing from last year still at the club, and arguably our POTS being dropped for a centre half in midfield. Square pegs in round holes for no reason 🤷🏽‍♂️

@cpacks_ I don’t mind the idea of FCD in midfield. Just not alongside Cooper

Interesting to read the negativity towards Charlie Cooper + FCD double pivot by #YTFC fans - I haven’t seen it live yet but I’ll try + explain my thoughts. I consistently make it clear; I like both players + appreciate what they offer BUT I don’t think it takes a genius to work out that their profiles won’t/don’t make for a good pairing in midfield. I think it’s 🔑 to make the point that in the opening two games we’ve completely avoided having controlled possession + overloads in wide areas. Bypassing a midfield of FCD + Cooper definitely isn’t a good idea - Both offer a lot on the ball w/ their passing but both also struggle to keep up w/ play for an entire game - Having one of FCD/Cooper alongside McGavin/McCormick makes more sense to me. Cooper is sometimes criticised for his effort levels (or lack of) when recovering in transition. FCD quite clearly isn’t a box-to-box midfield, so gaps will open up, making things easy for the opposition to play through our spine. I do think FCD will end up becoming a midfielder in the future - He has some wonderful attributes which would suit a deep-lying midfielder. He won’t be able to succeed to his highest standards next to a profile of midfielder like Charlie Cooper.
