All I’ve ever wanted was a mysterious unmarked envelope to arrive on my doorstep. FOODIE by Stokes Prickett. Radio check, over.

“JoJo Rabbit” 75% - A tricky balance of tones to pull off, but Taika’s real gift is getting winning and truly funny performances out of kids.

“The Lighthouse” 75% - High marks in my Keeper’s log for the film craft and dedication to sea language.

Overworked movie trailer trope right now — the tick-tocking of a clock. Edits matched the beat of the ticks, tempo increases to a manic pace that leads to a crescendo — then, finally back to a singular, normal speed tick-tock layered with reverb.

@robwelcher It won’t open in OKC until 11/22...then steaming on Netflix on 11/27.

“The Irishman” 88% - A trio of knockout performances. Pesci is a national treasure. The runtime is always the lead, but I’m glad I got to see it on the big screen in a theatre with a crowd.

“Parasite” 88% - Darkly comedic, cruel at times look at the modern “High and Low” class gap. Set design of the two primary homes is absolutely killer.

AirDrop has to be the single most frustrating Apple feature of all time. Mostly because when it works it’s a genius tool, but it’s so wildly inconsistent and totally schizophrenic.

“Gemini Man” 63%-The high frame rate is a big ask for the audience to overcome. But the first hour is a really exciting Will Smith “Bourne” movie with some well executed, high concept chase sequences.

Andrew Patterson's The Vast of Night is "...eerie and compelling..." and unlike anything we've seen in a long time. Check out the new poster, designed by Midnight Marauder for Mondo.

@Variety @AskDebruge And finally! My most-anticipated film of the fest was Andrew Patterson's THE VAST OF NIGHT, a low-budget, high-ambition period sci-fi flick about a 1950s alien invasion. It lived up to the hype. variety.com/2019/film/revi…

Public Service Announcement: the @A24 podcast is just wonderful. Especially the extended Bergman discussion with Ari Aster & Robert Eggers.

I never realized that the ”Eyes Wide Shut” score was so very “Curb Your Enthusiasm” adjacent.
