**The Pebble Mines**
Bristol Bay, Alaska:
One of our world's last surviving great ecosystems of vast wetlands, winding streams and sprawling rivers. Home of sockeye salmon and one of the world’s largest Chinook salmon runs, it hosts dozens of types of fish, and millions of birds.
Bristol Bay also contains the Pebble deposits:
One of the greatest stores of mineral wealth ever discovered. Billions of pounds of copper and millions of ounces of gold and silver plus rhenium and palladium.
The Pebble Mines are the world’s largest undeveloped copper and gold resource.
Decades of battles between mining interests and environmentalists have ensued. On January 2023, the EPA issued a Final Determination under its Clean Water Act Section 404(c) authority that effectively blocked mining of scale of the Pebble resources within the Bristol Bay watershed.

.@WSSchools sent out a memo to employees that they can’t put up Christmas decorations, play Christmas music, or dress up for Christmas.
Meanwhile they proudly celebrate pride month in their schools.
Can’t celebrate Christmas but it’s okay to celebrate who adults like to have s*x with!
