Please have a look at my #readingfc website if you haven't yet. It's purely a means of sharing my collection and some of our club's history, and is 100% non-profit chrisdlee.com

Newspapers are not designed to be kept, so are printed on cheap acidic paper (even more so in the past). This means that over time they will dry out and yellow with age, making them very unstable. Here are a few old papers I have relating to #readingfc that have seen better days!

New Addition to my collection: A lovely rosette issued after #readingfc set the record for consecutive league wins at the start of a season (which still stands after 41 years). I've got a few of these now, and they make a nice little collection in themselves.

Player photos are another thing I enjoy collecting, but, again, they are surprisingly difficult to get hold of! #readingfc

@MarkHopgoo46439 That's exactly it. I've seen us play in all four divisions, and I'd rather see an entertaining match in League Two than watch our awful minimal action football in the Championship.

Living up in Chesterfield and having a few Sheff Weds mates is reminding me of us last year. Full of hope and excited about buying STs.
I was never expecting a miracle and I’m still not, I just want to enjoy watching the football again. #readingfc

A new addition for my #readingfc collection: Another incredibly scarce team supplement of which I have several, and I absolutely love them. These are very delicate and, as is usual, this one has been folded.

@dingarchive Was in the shop before the last game, have to say I was surprised.

The 'Reading Standard' and 'Berkshire Chronicle' newspapers both employed talented cartoonists in the pre-war era, and these were published after Reading had beaten Oldham 6-1 at Elm Park in January 1929 #readingfc

@TheTilehurstEnd If I thought we were moving to a point where we could enjoy going to matches again, I'd accept what's happening as a 'rebuild'. But I'm baffled as to what the plan is, there's been zero progress on that front.

Finally it's the end of the season, this #readingfc v #utmp also dates from end of the season in 1952 but it's a testimonial for 4 long standing players, 2-4 loss is annotated. enjoy the summer, programmes will be back next season @TheTilehurstEnd @cribsie

100 years ago today, #readingfc achieved their first promotion as a League club when they beat Brentford 7-1 on the last day at Elm Park. Frank Richardson scored four, with Hugh Davey hitting the other three.
