In this dressing room, the incumbent Test captain played under a T20-only player and captain in Asia cup. Later got dropped from T20s in favour of other players who were better suited for the format. In the past, it was difficult to keep the captain in one format out of the squad in another format. This meant we always looked for the elusive "All format player" as the next captain. I hope that philosophy is put to bed forever. Every format deserves its specialists and its own captain. Hopefully we would take the same philosophy forward and split the coaching job as well based on who is best suited for the format.
