@_Sul01_ They're in a difficult spot because at a certain point increasing your SR isn't really about marginally increasing your intent with your current methods, it requires significantly reworking your shot repertoire and base methods.

@BumrahFullToss Don't lionise the credentials. After undergrad it has very little correlation with ability to perform precise statistical work. IQ and domain knowledge reign supreme.

I go back and forth on pitch preferences but the thing that really needles me is that some guys are gonna end the season having played on pitches with an average score of 220 and others 180 and at the end of it their stats will be compared uncritically.

Samson and now Abhishek have proven the "form is the most important thing in T20" hypothesis from earlier in the tournament erroneous. If you give these guys bad bowling on flat pitches they'll invariably succeed. Them and 20 other Indian bats.

@_Sul01_ @veetervot That they do that and it doesn't produce worse results doesn't indicate that it doesn't help, it indicates the opposite. If a basic test of efficacy says that there's no effect that implies teams care about it exactly as much as they should.

@dweplea Hard to look beyond the Sooryavanshi show this year. Good supporting cast too. Jaiswal & Parag settling scores with selectors, the Hetmyer revival. The bowling attack isn't great either so you get to see the other teams' batters show out too.
