@daniellismore all good except the fact that woman means person of the female sex; not person of the female gender. Trans women are, simply, trans women, and yeah, the word trans is un-skippable, because saying trans women are women is erasing women from their own sex.

The category “woman” itself is not purely biological even within science. Biological sex involves chromosomes, gonads, hormones, anatomy and secondary characteristics. These dimensions do not always align perfectly. Gender identity describes a person’s internal sense of belonging within social sex categories. In everyday life, societies already rely on this composite reality rather than chromosome testing to recognise women. From a scientific standpoint, the accurate statement is that transgender women are individuals whose gender identity and social role align with the category woman despite differing aspects of sex development. Recognising them as women reflects the combined understanding of developmental biology, psychology and social reality rather than the reduction of sex to a single variable. Science does not produce moral rules about recognition. It describes complexity. The evidence shows that human sex and gender development are multi-layered processes with natural variation. Within that framework, transgender women represent one form of human diversity rather than a contradiction of biology.

CW // many words The sad reality is.. trans people cannot count on cïs people. Liberals just want to uphold their status quo and human rights have always been negotiable. We’re not given a platform to share our experiences, instead we get suppressed and invalidated. For many we’re a fetish, a punching bad or an easy way to make some money. Being transphobic pays the bills for many and our “allies” still think they cannot unconditionally support us since we’re being unreasonable. In reality, we want true equality. Have access to trans healthcare because it provably and reliably works, be respected as our true gender, not be reduced to gametes and not be discriminated against in the job market etc. However, things have gotten so bad we need to be thankful if we’re only getting othered, ostracised and treated as second class citizens. You aren’t even allowed to call out micro aggressions because that’s “pushing allies away.” Obviously we cannot just settle for this and people who expect us to aren’t genuinely fighting for us. They talk over us, don’t listen to our life experience and think they get to decide our fate because we’re such a small minority. It is exhausting and I’m tired of it. I honestly hope that something changes soon and things settle down or the target is no longer on us, but it gets increasingly more difficult to believe in a system that is designed to work against us. I would never want to go back into the closet. I am so much happier breaking free from the prison society trapped me in.. I just wish I got to do it earlier, so I would’ve had a few years of peace and quiet where I didn’t have to constantly fight for my right to exist. I love the community I managed to build and friends I found by being my authentic self, but omg is it hard to not be trapped inside my head when so many politicians in different countries made it their lives’ mission to be as cruel as possible to 1% of the population. My life before transitioning wasn’t worth living so I didn’t care what was going on in the world. Now I do. I believe that a better future is possible, but I worry about how bad things have to get till people finally give a shit about the canary in the coal mine.
