Some rather unpleasant messages were sent regarding 'profiting' from this. 1. I'm poor & often can't buy books. Please urge your library to purchase copies & put advance hold. 2. No one is getting rich off writing academic books against MAiD ffs.

A few weeks ago I (@mssinenomine) tweeted that I had serious concerns about the BC Govt changing the Building Code (effective Aug 27/24) to no longer require two emergency stairwell exits in apt buildings up to 6 stories high. I was immediately set upon by YIMBYs. 🧵

Ellen Wiebe is a very dishonest and frankly, frightening woman. Here she is asserting expertise about subject matter while making up a whole new word I've never seen anyone use in any context "undisabled." Her expertise is killing. That is her area of expertise - nothing else.

Ellen Wiebe is repeating a regular claim of MAiD proponents - that not giving MAiD to non-dying disabled people would be discriminatory. She's relying on people being unaware that disability includes anyone with chronic illness, mental illness, etc...as well as impairments.
