@Cocadope Hmm many factors need to be considered in the answer as many cons are at different growth rates. The con I had in mind is not one anyone has mentioned & I think it should stay the same. I didnt expect this ramble to be the “ take of the day” So sadly will not elaborate more rn

@CrocCollie im with you but the demand for dealer spots has also gone way up , not negging i'm just curious if you think they should just stick to keeping things the same in spite of the growing scene .

If your con moves dealers to another building than the main con I ain’t applying. I heard whispers of more cons planning to do this. We do not want this. Stop it. I pay to sell at a con, put me in the con

@Birthday_Bunni @oakleyscons @CherryB0X I think my concern lies with splitting things up, makes things less spontaneous or easy choice for wondering con goers. If they pair it with other main events it would be nice on its own feels like a predetermined adventure, ADA wise it also may mean less returning trips

@Birthday_Bunni @oakleyscons @CherryB0X Valid-Proximity is key ANE is still small and packed so that makes sense, getting to the room after dealing was hard as its just one hotel space- that sort of expansion works if they dont over fill the new space. I like how ANE makes changes proves its not just one con then!

@oakleyscons @CherryB0X I wont name the con but I heard one is in the process of considering it - just wanted to express this so any other con considering it thinks about it further. Many of the people who run and set up dens are not dealers themselves, I would love to help set up the dens someday.

@CrocCollie @CherryB0X MAYBE since dealers is popular I could see them doing this as to have dealers be the first introduction to a new/eventual bigger venue? But yknow. Still kinda sucky, especially since this isn’t always told to the dealers in advanced 🤷‍♀️

Dealer since 2012: Cut the amount of dealers accepted if they don’t fit in the same room. Over packing defeats the purpose of expansion. Building structures should not block a table Just bc BIGCON does it doesn’t mean we should Can vs should! ➡️Not about FWA, just my opinion

@CrocCollie @FurzyWhiteTiger I am tired of stuff like splitting tables in two to fit more dealers in, like I believe Anthrocon did this year. It is worse for the dealers and an overwhelming shopping experience as a consumer.

Its not about fwa but it did happen at fwa…. I just dont want my cons who dont do this to do this when they have plenty of space as is!

@Shugnussy This isnt about fwa though they did do this and a lot of dealers didnt like it. Imo there should only be enough dealers to fit one room, saying no sucks, but its for the best.

@CrocCollie The argument that pushed FWA to do this was to keep all the dealers in the same ballroom If you have dealers in two different rooms, someone will say “the dealers in the west room did better than the dealers in the east room” So FWA honored the dealers request to be in one room

@FurzyWhiteTiger Yeah tested & proven its not good for dealers. The cons thinks “more space = more dealers picked and more cash for the con” when really thats “less foot traffic & cash spread thin” Also saw ppl waiting in line outside, no one wants that…

@CrocCollie Fwa was a disaster for dealers.

I miss the days of early 2000s deviant art culture where I spent ALL my free time complimenting artist and doing trades. Everyone I encountered back then met me with the same enthusiasm. I felt like I could make friends with everyone. The energy was FUELED by love and creativity

@TheWereRen Oh i dont have 3d printer i usually hand carve foam, im using a mixed candy base i got last year! Straps also bother me so might as well try to attach it to the bucket?? Lol at least itd be soft

@CrocCollie Oh no 😭 I have a tpu base Ive been working on but its quite fitted so I thankfully haven't had to worry about that *yet*. Best of luck- maybe printing a bumper for the back would work if bucket method is too bulky? You got this!!

Fursuit making as a side hobby is so weird sometimes because I can look at a personal bodysuit project I started for a few months longingly then finally do it and I'm done in like a week and I'm just like oh I could have done this the entire time if I just devoted myself to it 😅
