I want to shake every fucking animation executive and throw them out a window. THIS PROJECT DOUBLED ITS GOAL IN THE FIRST HOUR!! PEOPLE WANT ANIMATION JUST LET US MAKE IT

@MazMadeFursuits That’s actually so smart, didn’t realize there’d be an actual effect if you concave the mesh?? But it just,, makes sense

I modelled and printed some simple forms, glued the edges of the mesh to the concave side of the mould to keep it centered, then used heat shielding tape around the outside edge so it would stay flat(ish, needs work), then used a heat gun and pressed the top piece into the mould

Oh I'm so happy I took the time to figure out how to curve my eye mesh, look how much eye contact the first (curved) has vs the second (flat)! (Ignore the colour I forgot to use my sublimation settings when I printed so I just used them for this test lol)

@Twilight_Husky_ What about the many hours the ARTIST spends off their life to make the piece for you? Or does that not matter cause their job is “fun” 🙄 Simply put, don’t wanna spend that money? Don’t spend it, or dig for someone in your price range. You never NEED a ref sheet

Commission prices are out of control. Simple as. 300 bucks for a ref sheet or basic drawing?? Hell no. That's 10 HOURS of my life I would have had to spend to be able to afford that. Actually, it's definitely more than that because the government taxes wages.

@oakleyscons @david_shifflet Cringe is actually a sensation. It is an actual thing you can experience physically when you come in contact with something that makes you feel uneasy or awkward. How the word is used is a little different than what it means, and some people for sure use it way too loosely.

“Eww, that’s cringe” Always translates to “I lack whimsy”

@ElkDragon Unfortunately you’re one of many, so don’t worry, I completely get the cynicism :’D It’s a risky venture that has only gotten more apparent, there’s only so many ways that help your odds beyond reminding cons you exist XD Really do wish you luck, whether you try again or not!

@ElkDragon To be completely fair ACFI is starting to hit notoriety that’s making it a hard one to start with (2k cons are surprisingly a big gamble), but I’m glad to hear you’re at least considering cons of its size! West coast cons can be harder to get into too, oof

I think Im done applying to deal at conventions. Its a losing game at this point, and my hat in the ring is only making crowd larger. A crowd many MANY cons have now shown they DO NOT care to draw from.

What a wonderful birthday with some of my friends! They watched me play Pokopia all day and then made me homemade pasta, healthy cake to aid in my recovery, and gave me beautiful gifts and art. Im also starting to feel better finally. Such a good day!
