Here are all the shots we get of Neela's Bajoran ensign rank pin in #StarTrekDS9's "In the Hands of the Prophets". This is the ensign pin according to the Star Trek Encyclopedia and the same pin is worn by the Bajoran credited as "Ensign" in "Dramatis Personae".

#STarTrekDS9's "Duet" (what a great episode!!) is the third episode in a row which features a Bajoran officer stationed to #DS9 wearing the ensign rank pin. Ensign Neela appears for the first time in this episode but will have a much bigger role (and better pin close-ups) in the season finale.

In #StarTrekDS9's "Dramatis Personae", we see another Bajoran ensign )(dentified as such in the episode's end credits) with the ensign rank insignia, consisting of the circle at the bottom of the Bajoran emblem, the pin and only the right half of the smaller oval. Is that a LEGO earring? 😋

#StarTrekDS9's "The Forsaken" is the first episode in which we see the Bajoran ensign rank insignia, worn by Anara. It consists of the circle, a shortened pin and (the right) half of the inner oval. This will be seen again in later season 1 #DS9 episodes.

#StarTrekDS9's "Progress" featured many versions of the Bajoran emblem on the iside and outside of Mullibok's homse on Jeraddo. Towards the end of the episode, however, there's also a really good shot of Kira's rank insgnia which is also based on the Bajoran emblem and can be seen here.

The circular/spiral element of the Bajoran emblem is seen on its own again in #StarTrekDS9's "Progress". It can be found above the door to Mullibok's house. The spiral alone also must have significance to the Bajorans.

#StarTrekDS9's "Progress" is another early episode with numerous appearances of stylized versions of the Bajoran emblem. Here a highly decorative version of the emblem can be seen on the inside and outside of the door of Mullibok's house on Jeraddo.

According to a Christie's auction listing of a large Bajoran wall emblem, "The circle is based on a set drawing by set designer Nathan Crowley for a temple in "Emissary". The circular area with the spiral would have been a spiral staircase. The set design was not used, but it caught the eye of graphic designer Mike Okuda, who used it as the basis of the Bajoran symbol." The much simpler stair spiral that was ultimately used can be seen in the screenshot. 2/2

The Bajoran map in #StarTrekDS9's "The Storyteller" is interesting as it does not contain the full Bajoran emblem but just the circular spiral part of the emblem, seen in all four corners of the map. In the future, this spiral will sometimes appear on its own, apart from the rest of the logo. 🧵 1/2

Various stylized versions of the Bajoran emblem are seen as windows and door windows in #StarTrekDS9's "The Storyteller". It's interesting how both versions leave out certain and different elements of the design but are still instantly recognizable as "the Bajoran logo".
