And where does the NBA’s oversight stop? For example, if Markkanen and JJJ played in the 4th but with 3 two-way players around them would that be acceptable? Or would more fines arrive should they not play their statistically best roster? NBA would be better served addressing the motivation to tank rather than punishing the tanking itself

The 2 teams with the best shot at sustainable success in this cap environment (OKC & SAS) got there by losing a ton of games, trading players for picks, and hitting on said picks It’s been a copycat league for decades; no surprise that others would try to follow that model.
