The NYT needs a conservative columnist. They must meet NYT standards for fact-checking, but present arguments readers will not otherwise encounter. Pot is far less harmful than alcohol or cigarettes, so it's hard to see that as a bad thing. Yes, I realize it's now based or whatever to prefer smoking and drinking to weed—those are my preferences, too—but come on.
