I genuinely think the Endfield doompost is not really about legitimate criticism but rather a sign of unfamiliarity and fear of adaptability to changes You may criticise if something may be better, or if there is a wide window of improvement for the game (and that infact, is true, the game isn't perfect however, bad either) But saying "Endfield is shit because X game is", "This system is better than Endfield because of X game", "X game has better combat than endfield" it's more of a bad faith argument towards a title doing it's own thing than a real structured argument used for "criticism" The moment Endfield step out from the Hoyo-like formula, it's not fair to view the future of the game nor it's actual state with a hoyo expectative but rather argument what Endfield can do better in the window of its own expectative, more about what the game provides/does RIGHT NOW "But they are looking for a wide audience" and you think satisfactory audience is small? Do you think Jrpg's audience are small? The game isn't an action/hack and slash based game The game isn't an open-world The game isn't anime cartoonish based but rather more realistic The game didn't obligated you to rush your progress for the FOMO of rotative Endgame content The game tells you to have patience and learn to administrate your resources (wether if it's gacha currency or upgrade materials) And so on, seriously, what are these groups of people bitching about what Endfield ISN'T, trying to do? "If they don't hear the masses the game will EOS" Well, they are doing very much their own things and yet the game is suffering from succes Is "the masses" really the masses, or a loud minority? Because i have seen a lot of normies lately praising how Arknights feels like a real game (and it's thier first gacha) and are happy about what they achieved, just to let you know
