I've successfully completed Google Summer of Code!
I worked on xrefer, an LLM-based binary analysis project at @Mandiant / Flare. Specifically, I designed and implemented an abstraction layer that extends xrefer, originally an IDA plugin, to support multiple backends including IDA, Binary Ninja, and Ghidra.
Since the project was initiated in February 2025, it was quite ambitious, but by leveraging cutting-edge technologies I was able to deliver a backend-agnostic and interchangeable architecture.
It was an honor to collaborate over several months with a team at the forefront of malware analysis!
