For the last 15+ years, I have been creating art, murals, graphics, photography and anything and everything related to the creative field. It only seemed natural to take the next step in the art world of the blockchain.
Crypto Cranes were dreamed up because of a long love affair with origami, and specifically the origami crane. My grandmother, Tomeko, born in Yokohama Japan, introduced me to the art of folding when I was a young child, and the art form has been an integral part of my artmaking ever since. The Crypto Crane series NFTs are a dedication to her, and all of her love. Since passing away in 2018 from a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease, I have continued to create cranes in her honor.
The goal was always to create 1,000 cranes in honor of Japanese traditions.
Each crane is hand drawn from actual cranes that were folded by hand in my home art studio.
The larger picture goal of the project is to be able to have a project that gives back. 20% of sales will be donated to Alzheimer’s research, and 10% of royalties earned will also be donated to Alzheimer’s research.
Please join me in this journey.
If you have lost someone to Alzheimer’s, I would love to hear their story.
