A few thoughts on bag bias: “NFTs on Bitcoin” was considered a crazy idea one year ago. In retrospect it was the most obvious thing ever. So why did everyone fade? Bag bias The more time I spend in this space the more I realize that people say the things they say and do the things they do because of the incentive alignment of their bags. This phenomenon affects us all. Too much bag bias is bad because when presented with new facts you can’t rationally analyze them. Too little bag bias is the worst because then you end up hopping around to whatever the flavor of the week is and all of a sudden you are the guy collecting NFTs on Avalanche (trust me you don’t want to be the guy collecting NFTs on Avalanche). But there is a sweet spot to strive for. A little bit of bag bias gives you the slightly irrational conviction which is typically how people are able to hold something long enough for it to 100x. Yet you are still able to analyze new opportunities objectively and participate in emerging trends. This sweet spot is the goal!
