2027: Nigerians Are Walking Into the Foreign Intervention Trap Nigerians are making a serious mistake ahead of the 2027 elections. Instead of rejecting foreign interference, both opposition politicians and many citizens appear to be looking to the same imperial powers that helped build Nigeria’s broken political system for rescue. But no foreign-backed “change” project will liberate Nigeria. It will only replace one puppet with another. The real solution is not another election shaped by foreign interests. It is a citizen-led movement strong enough to dismantle every imperial imprint in the country and build a Nigeria that serves its own people.

Rebuilding Brotherhood Trust Across African Borders I have been observing with deep concern the alarming rise of xenophobic attacks in South Africa. I strongly condemn these acts. My thoughts are with all those affected—especially our Nigerian brothers and sisters, whose lives, businesses, and dignity are once again under threat. No African should feel unsafe on African soil, or anywhere else. I commend the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mrs Bianca Ojukwu and her Ministry for their swift response to this issue. I recall my visit to our compatriots during a similar crisis. It was a painful experience that revealed both the suffering and resilience of our people. It also highlighted a fundamental truth: beyond borders, we share a common identity and destiny as Africans. Such experiences should have inspired lasting solutions, not recurring tragedy. In this regard, I urge the authorities in South Africa to act decisively - to protect lives and property, bring perpetrators to justice, and restore public confidence. Leadership must rise to the occasion, making it clear that violence and intolerance have no place in our societies. -PO

🇺🇸🇮🇷 Marco Rubio is probably the most delusional person in the United States. He exemplifies the collective IQ of those in charge of leadership in America. According to him the US has launched “Operation Freedom” to force Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz. But if Iran refuses, the US will attack them, and the attack will be an act of defence from a US perspective. He argues that Iran’s blockade of the Strait is a breach of international law (is he really quoting International???), and that the US is on the coasts of Iran to defend itself. What a load of crap.

This morning, in Lagos, I met with the U.S. Consul General, Mr Rick Swart, where we discussed strengthening the bilateral relationship. We focused on promoting credible elections in Nigeria, ensuring they are free from interference, and fostering a space where all political parties, especially opposition parties can thrive, and contribute. We also discussed trade and business opportunities between our countries. Accompanying me to the meeting was Dr Adefolaseye Adebomi Adebayo. The discussion was very productive, and we are hopeful that, moving forward, Nigeria’s elections will be even more credible and transparent. -PO

I unironically support the alleged Nigerian scammers in this case. A startup whose premise is to pay poor people to submit their photos and data and use it to train AI models that will inevitably be turned into weapons or tools that destroy livelihoods so that a defense contractor in Silicon Valley can have 3 yachts instead of 2, is a startup I wish death upon. I hope the Yahoo Boys get around this rudimentary IP ban and continue what they're doing until they make this startup insolvent or render its AI model unusable.
Avi Patel@avipat_

We have removed Kled from the Nigerian app store and IP banned the entire region. The first thing I would like to say is I have nothing against Nigeria. I have a ton of friends from this region and these were some of our earliest app adopters. Genuinely, thank you all for the support. Kled has been up and running and out of beta for 4 months now. We have paid out hundreds of thousands of people for their data, and our users have uploaded over 1 billion assets onto our platform. After several months of uploads we found that Nigeria had a ≈95% fraud rate. Instead of real, usable data, users were uploading pictures of black screens, duplicate photos, internet generated images, AI generated images, etc. at an unimaginable scale. In comparison, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines have a less than 10% fraud rate across 10x the userbase size. Our fraud system is fast to catch these issues but the level of complexity of these schemes is getting out of hand. This weekend we were flooded with thousands of fake Japanese passports and identity cards with Nigerians photoshopped onto them in our KYC system. That was the final straw. As a startup we can't afford to eat the costs of that data overhead, so we temporarily removed the app from the region while we improved our fraud detection and banning system to quickly filter out bad actors when the time is right. On top of all of this, every time we make a post there is someone asking us to bring the region back within seconds. We hear you, but it's gotten out of hand. We've made this decision with great care. We love everyone who has genuinely supported Kled from Nigeria, and we hope to return when the time is right. -Kled Team

Moniepoint CEO doesn't want to pay Nigerians the same salary paid in Canada or US. Hmmm 🤔. I'm glad you people are having this conversation, because what Moniepoint CEO is doing is exactly how the West has treated African for the last 100 years. Nigerians/Africans are not expected to earn less by accident. It is a deliberate design by the capitalist West for the purpose of maximizing profits. *Your currency needs to be devalued. *Your unemployment rate needs to be super high. All for your labour to be cheap. After donating your cheap labour in the supply chain to reduce production cost, the products can then be exported to beat your domestic production. Now, it's easy to understand because a Nigerian company is taking advantage of it. This is exactly the point I have been making. Nigerians/Africans only understand prejudice, injustice, or corruption when committed by someone who looks like them.
Cinderella Man@Osi_Suave

Moniepoint CEO dey muzz me Ask him to pay global salaries he will start to stammer. That you cant find 500 people to fill roles is bullshit. He should just say he cant find people who will take a mountain of work for shitty salaries.

This NGO serves as a Police station (for crime response), EFCC (for economic and financial crimes, a.k.a if them scam you) and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs (for social interventions). So basically a parallel government. This arrangement should not exist in a healthy nation. But make no mistake: Nigeria is working according to plan with people like VDM. These guys are not anti-establishment as they would have believe. They are establishment proxies, used to advance a reduced state intervention agenda. It’s part of a broader neoliberal scheme. He does the same job as religious leaders, which is to present you with the illusion that you can make it without the involvement of your government. But in reality, you simply cannot. No nation serious about the well-being of its population operates with limited state intervention. None. You can go from China to Vietnam. None. Individuals or corporations should never be handed such powers. But of course, trust Nigerians to never see the bigger picture.
