@wendywaddell7@replayfaktor grace is for the whole Christian life. We are already sanctified through Christ. Tetelestai for all of it including your best tries.
@replayfaktor Read James. Salvation is Grace. That is justification. The process of sanctification happens as we mature in The Holy Spirit. Faith without works is dead. Fruit is evidence one IS Saved. Willful sin will not save.
Preaching holiness & obedience as the way to salvation sounds so...righteous. However our righteousness is as filthy rags. Heretics will disguise salvation by works in so many ways but they cannot hide the fact that they are spitting at the cross.
.
Faith destroying “preachers” quote law verses & are oblivious to the fact that no one does them.
They say you must do them or you might not even be a Christian.
You believe them because they’re reading it from the Bible.
Your faith is shaken.
Total ignorance of law & gospel.
.
If you’ve got a gospel verse, a verse of pure grace..and then you come across or someone brings to your attention a law verse (something that you should do or be)..
it’s the grace verse that takes precedence.
Each and every time.
God told the disciples 2 go into ALL the world & preach the Gospel because Jesus died for the sins of ALL the world. Not some, most or just certain ones he chose.
1 John 2:2
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
@cryptocattledog That’s your belief.
It’s not what the New Testament says about it.
Jesus spoke through Paul and expounded on what He told so many others. It’s all God’s doing.
.
Works Righteousness
The Devil is the one who would make your salvation into an action that you must take.
Having to make a decision to accept Jesus might only be 1 small work..
but it’s 1 small work too many.
@pudicat11 I do believe God gives us the faith by which we find THE way back to God aka belief in Jesus but I do believe He doesn’t force Himself on us & It’s His desire ALL come 2 repentance. Do u see it more like IF we believe in Jesus it’s bc God made us believe? Or unfair assessment?
@cryptocattledog Exactly.
We are called and chosen. Elected.
We have no part in it.
After we receive the gift of faith then there are choices we can make. But not regarding our standing before God.
@endtimeslife Well I do know His will is not for me to attempt to make myself “holier” by commandment keeping but by all means feel free to give it a go!
@cryptocattledog Faith is given to us. The Holy Spirit is the One who creates faith in us. When & where He wills to do so.
People can be hoodwinked into thinking they have faith because they made a decision. They could actually have a false faith. One of their own making.
@pudicat11 Do you equate the faith which I agree is given to us by God with man’s “belief” in this same faith? Or do you distinguish these terms? Some do and some dont. I’m just trying to understand clearly your position.
There’s no evidence with fruit, the lost produce changed lives-Satan and his ministers masquerade as those of righteousness. You can be saved and have no fruit/no growth-saved nonetheless. All your works could be burned and guess what happens?
@endtimeslife Yes I figured you didn’t mean salvation. My point is we are not holy bc we avoid secular music or avoid this sin or that. Or listen to Christian music or tithe etc. It’s all bc of Jesus and only bc of him.
@MtZion33AD I actually helped write a book on this issue and it corrects a great deal of the erroneous conclusions made by Wayne Grudem and other Lordship advocates.
"Free Grace Theology: 5 Ways it Magnifies the Gospel"- you can get it on Amazon. The latest edition has my response to Grudem
