Let me get this straight, someone on ave. salary £35k a year, WORKING, will now be £1,400 worse off after the budget  BUT someone with 5 kids on benefits NOT working will be £10,000 better off This is becoming a disgrace. Rewarded for not working, PUNISHED for working

One year ago today, I was elected as Esher and Walton’s first Liberal MP for over a century and first ever female MP. I promised to relentlessly stand up for the community which I am so proud to call my home, and to give local residents the representation they deserve. I’ve tried here to sum up my first year’s work in one minute … spoiler: I ran way over — and there’s so much I’ve left out but here’s a taster of the headlines… To my amazing constituents in Esher and Walton - there’s so much more to do - we’re only just getting started!

Anybody noticed that when Keir Starmer said he would recognise Palestine as a state. People said he was rewarding Hamas. Well forgive me for saying it. TODAY ISRAEL & HAMAS SIGNED A PEACE TREATY. Keir applied pressure on to Israel and that pressure has worked. LEADERSHIP 👋👋

Surely this is just the start Rupert? There must be countless other MPs who vehemently oppose this oppressive and dystopian policy and will sign your petiton. The government are installed to serve the people - not the other way round. This cannot and must not happen. Full stop.

Labour has responded to the petition stating that a Digital ID will be introduced within this Parliament. A cross-party effort in Westminster to resist that is now an absolute necessity. I'm pleased to report even more signatures on our letter. We will fight it in Parliament.

Interest rates are not coming down because of this inept government. They are coming down despite of this government. In any case, lowering interest rates is sign of a weak economy that needs monetary polcy intervention. Furthermore, the laughable notion that lower interest rates means more money in hardworking people’s pockets is ludicrous! Banks and building societies have only fractional reduced fixed rate terms so the average home owner what’s only noticed a small reduction to their mortgage bill…. In the meantime real inflation is atill very high and everyone is feeling worse off - not better. I do wish this sleazy government would stop gaslighting the frustrated British public.

In the UK, after 14 years of Tories (and 14 increases) of interest rates, … we have now had 5 consecutive interest rate reductions under Labour. Looks increasingly like the chaos and confusion of the Old Lot has been replaced by quiet competence of the New.
