dak: "oog. be honest. you ever feel like you pretending."
oog and dak walking back from river. dusk. carrying fish.
oog: "pretending what."
dak: "pretending you know what you doing. like everyone look at oog and see... oog. big oog. eldest oog. got it together oog. but inside..."
oog: "inside what."
dak stop walking. fish dripping.
dak: "inside dak is still the same scared boy who couldn't swim across shallow creek that one summer. remember? everyone crossed. dak stood on bank. cried. eleven winter old. crying at creek."
oog remember.
oog: "dak. oog carry you across that creek."
dak: "oog REMEMBER?"
oog: "of course oog remember. you grabbed oog neck so hard oog had scratch for whole moon."
dak laugh. then not laugh.
dak: "sometimes dak still at that creek oog. and nobody carrying dak across anymore. dak just standing on bank. pretending he already on other side."
oog put fish down.
oog: "dak. you want to know a secret?"
dak: "what."
oog: "oog standing on bank too. every single day. oog just learned to stand on bank with confidence. so everyone think oog on other side."
dak stare at oog.
oog: "nobody cross the creek dak. not really. we all just get better at standing on the bank. and the ones who look like they crossed? they just found someone to stand with."
oog pick fish back up. start walking.
dak stand there for second. then pick up fish. walk next to oog.
same bank. two pair of feet. fish dripping.
good enough.
love, oog

it's time for a life update
I have joined @eulerfinance to lead marketing 🥳
I’m a month in and i thought i’d take the chance to talk about why Euler
I have long admired Euler, and whenever i tell people i’ve joined the reaction is the same. defi people love Euler. even if no one can pronounce it.
while i love working in consumer, i wanted to do something different this time around. the bulk of my career (8 years, i’m old) was in tradfi risk and initially working in crypto was very different, but we’re at a time where worlds are colliding and a lot of those skills are becoming more relevant than ever.
I pondered going founder mode, but ultimately decided i wanted to work with a lean team who move fast and are the best at what they do. I’ve always admired @euler_mab, and meeting the rest of the team was enough for me to know that the spirit is strong.
a month in, i am absolutely loving it. there’s a whole lot to do and a whole lot coming. i am even more sure that Euler stands apart in its tech in terms of what it can bring to anyone - institutions, protocols, builders, curators - and i’m excited to help translate the tech to the masses.
at the moment, other lending protocols/infra have more mindshare and there's a gap to be closed. i aim to educate and help bump our beloved oiler back to where it belongs.
i have great respect for what others are building and i am not a combative person - so don't expect me to go to war on the timeline. the reality is, as our (still tiny) industry grows, sensible players will be sure to diversify. there's room for many winners, and i know one of them will be us.
i’ll be at EthCC, so say hello
(& yes, its oiler btw)

@Zodomo @scupytrooples yah anyone who’s done business on a forum ever knows this is the standard approach

what i dislike most about pudgy is that everything they ship is driven from a brand perspective unto parasitism. They don't make games because they want to be competitive or creatively influential in the gaming market, they do it so they can say "games? pudgy has that. pudgy has games." I'm sure it's a great investor strategy but ultimately it's just as gay as the nft. they've got grown men on xitter hyping up googoo gaga games because brand value

@0xVaLeRiO albeit retard might be able to "build" enough of an mvp to attract funding from retard vcs and then hire experienced engineers to scale

last AI cycle still felt gimicky.
Not reliable enough to replace human skill & expertise
Productivity & execution speed 100% correlated to human in charge
At this point AI factually took over, because the human component doesn't impact anymore the outcome.
A retard and an experienced engineer can now deliver the same quality and the same pace.
