Just met a cute girl at the wedding i’m at. like actually cute. genuinely attractive human being. we’re talking. vibes are good. she’s laughing at my jokes. i’m being charming. then NFTs get brought up and she says it: “i’m into Beaks @thebeaksart ” my ears PERKED up instantly. i played it cool. i said “oh nice, what do you know about it?” she said “i just saw the art. the bird characters look cool” and that’s where a normal person would’ve said “yeah they’re beautiful” and gotten her number. but i am not a normal person. my brain immediately went into autopilot. i said “just the art? you haven’t seen the bigger vision?” she looked confused. i kept going. “do you realize this isn’t some random NFT project? this is a globally respected artist with 20+ years of real artistic identity entering Web3. exhibitions from Rotterdam to Taipei. collaborations with The New York Times. every Beak is built with actual symbolism, detail, and intention. this isn’t JPEG farming. this is collectible art with cultural weight.” she said “i just thought the bird guys looked stylish” and i said “that’s exactly how it starts.” the vibe was GONE. her friend pulled her away. she didn’t look back. i was standing there alone at a wedding holding a drink i wasn’t even sipping, doing MENTAL GYMNASTICS about how people still think Beaks are “just NFTs” when this thing genuinely feels like a surreal art movement unfolding onchain in real time. my friend walked over and said “bro… she was into you. what happened?” i said “she thinks Beaks are just bird NFTs.” he said “so?” SO??? i would rather DIE alone than let someone reduce a 20-year artistic legacy into “cute bird JPEGs” when this is clearly one of the most visually distinct and culturally rich collections entering Web3 right now.
