In addition to my post yesterday, I discovered a fantastic tool for space group symmetry: Jmol Space Group Symmetry Visualiser All space groups can be displayed in 3D and not just the symmetry elements and general position, but all Wyckoff positions! spacegroups.symotter.org

I used the semester break to make some progress on the space group diagram project: now all space group diagrams of the trigonal crystal system (space groups no. 143 - 167) are complete! They are available as PNG, PDF, and PPT at: crystalsymmetry.wordpress.com/space-group-di… Enjoy!

The long tradition of #crystalstructure analysis at our Faculty (UL FKKT) continues! A new @rigaku XtaLAB Synergy-ED electron diffractometer was recently inaugurated. Extremely small crystals (down to 10 nm!) are sufficient to obtain the structure!
