I’ve now listened to every Pacers podcast reaction episodes regarding us losing our pick. All great episodes. But man the negativity level of one in particular is very tough to listen to.

The Pacers just lost their 2026 1st-round pick for Ivica Zubac. Los Angeles now gets the No. 5 overall pick. A massive moment of heartbreak again for Indiana.

Just to get it out there now I'd rather Zubac on the Pacers than any player we would have picked at 5 or 6 and in the case that we would have traded it, it likely would have had to be for a center So the trade is worth the risk to me even if they see the pick go to LA today

It really is a brutal day for the Pacers. Tyrese Haliburton ruptures his Achilles in Game 7, a full season gets wasted, and no lottery luck at the end of it. Indiana still has a really good roster but #5, 2029 unprotected, and Mathurin for Zubac is ultimately an overpay.

Pacers needed a starting C Pacers acquired a starting C Pacers risked losing a potential star acquisition . They used #5 pick for a staring C, & at 5 there will be a plethora of players… at positions they are stacked. Top 4 would’ve been icing. The cake is still pretty good

I'm really sorry to all our fans. I own taking this risk. Surprised it came up 5th after this year. I thought we were due some luck. But please remember - this team deserved a starting center to compete with the best teams next year. We have always been resilient.
