A great example of the multiple benefits of making places for both people & nature. Removing the Crossmill Weir improved the ecological status of the water whilst reconnecting the local community with the river; providing a positive environment for physical & mental health 👏

Making liveable places in the CSGN involves improving access to quality greenspace for people, while restoring and creating habitats that help tackle the biodiversity crisis. Towards the end of last year, this project in Shotts Nature Park delivered on both fronts.

Plans are in place to increase local quality greenspace in Easterhouse and regenerate vacant and derelict and improving connections to @SevenLochs. We were happy to support this workshop, which will pave the way for collaborative and community centred green space development.

Another🔑 2024 project: Faifley Knowes - a 19 hectare greenspace developed with @WDCouncil with #greenspace improvements. New & improved paths, new steel bridges & tree planting created an enhanced, accessible space. See the full transition here: vimeo.com/1040095978

We are delighted to publish a new @ClydeWetlands mapping study for the @GlasgowCityRgn. The study led by @GCVGreenNetwork provides new data and evidence for the region to target future #wetland creation & help identify #NatureNetworks💧🌱🦋

First up is Cumnock Memory Garden. A fully #accessible & #dementiafriendly site, developed with colourful planting and wildflower meadow to provide sensory cues as tools for reminiscence, whilst also providing habitat for pollinators and other wildlife 🌷🐝

As 2024 comes to a close, we're looking back on some of the projects delivered across the @csgreennetwork this year to improve places for people and nature, as well as contributing to several outcomes within Scotland’s National Performance Framework.

One week on from the @ScFinestWoods Awards 2024; a celebration of woodland and forestry in Scotland. Forests and woodlands can provide so many benefits for our communities and economy and it was a great showcase of the sector. Congrats to all involved! 🌲🌳 #SFWA24
