Happy 76th birthday to former major league umpire Drew Coble. When Ron Gant came careening wildly out of control back into first and his momentum caused him to stumble off the bag in Game 2 of the 1991 World Series, Coble was right there in position to make the correct call.

HOFer David Ortiz turns 48 today. I’m still baffled why he was let go especially after slugging .500 in 2002 and crushing RHP that season (.299/371/.548). I’m over it though…maybe…not really.

Brian Harper turns 64 today. During his 6 seasons as Twins catcher he had the highest batting avg among MLB catchers hitting .306. (Slaught .293, Biggio .276). He deserves to be in the #MNTwins HOF.

@DanHayesMLB Good hitters protect the plate with two strikes, especially in crucial situations. Astros fouled close pitches off all night and series. Twins didn’t lose this series/game because of bad strike calls. They lost because they had 28 strikeouts in last two games. Onward to 2024!

Max Kepler was not happy with the strike 3 call. It was well inside and Royce Lewis swiped second base on the play. Instead of man on second, full count, inning over. #MNTwins

Sonny Gray has the 6th best starting pitcher ERA in baseball & the 2nd best FIP. He’s a bulldog on the mound and his intensity would be missed next year. I want him back in 2024. #MNTwins
