@bikelakecity Remember that statement that pedestrians and bikes needed to take “personal responsibility” at rail crossings because they can’t be bothered to have the gate block the sidewalk? When do we demand personal responsibility from car drivers?

UDOT will build 7 lanes for drivers before they build a sidewalk for pedestrians. And then when cars kill us, it's our fault for dressing wrong or some other nonsense excuse—anything but poor infrastructure.

It is a failure in the mobility system when people have to walk along the edge of a stroad across the street from a rail station. Those who structure the system need to be held accountable to ensure the safety of all users, and it takes more than one person to do so.
