Post Liberal International Aid in the Middle East took center stage in Budapest this week, co organized with @InstituteDanube. Nicholas Naquin was joined by @ctmnicholson, @Iraqichristians and Charmaine Hedding to challenge the legacy of USAID style development, unpack ideological capture in Western aid, and highlight the existential crisis of Assyrian Christians. The message was clear: too often aid creates dependency, imposes foreign values, and overlooks vulnerable communities. The real test ahead is whether a humbler, locally grounded model can replace top down intervention and deliver real security and self reliance.

If @HillaryClinton is now saying this, we’re definitely seeing an Overton window shift on immigration. Worth noting: Hungarian PM @PM_ViktorOrban was saying this more than a decade ago, characteristically having the independence of spirit to say something true before it was elite consensus.

Wow, even Hillary Clinton rips open borders, demands a halt to mass migration, and secure borders. Will the European left finally listen, or hide behind phrases like "diversity is our strength" and simply call Hillary „far right“, as they do with everyone else pointing this out?

@jfwduffield 100%. Michael Howard warned about this new SW1 culture nearly 20 years ago on Newsnight. Under New Labour, standards were lowered, bullying and lying were normalised, and insiders endlessly rehabilitated. Mandelson is both an architect and a product of that system.
