abt the katara statue debate on the tl, i agree with #them that its writers fault but its funny seeing them say this when they’ve spent years saying with full confidence that if zk was canon, katara would’ve gotten one, doing animations & rt/posting this argument two doritos ago

@ctrlkoda so many of them truly believe that as he is 25 he should be over his trauma and that if he were a kid it wouldn't be so annoying or "bad" like hello. The trauma in question is being the last survivor of a genocide

why they cant accept they had similar but not equals experiences + they really think trauma goes once you reach adulthood? see how they never bring katara’s psdt out when its zk, bc that would be a major obstacle on zk & accepting katara would never be w zuko romantically

Because they only see from extremes meaning if you say aang has trauma from being the last Airbender and has to work through that they will go well Katara was the last bender of her tribe are you saying she can't understand or are you invalidating her trauma. That's a whole new sentence btw

abt the ‘zuko & aang scars are mirrors discourse’… we can add how the scars work as narrative symbolysm, especially on zuko’s arc: one to always remind him of his betrayal everytime he sees aang’s scar and the other as a reminder of his final redemption everytime he sees his own
