@foxyfolklorist I’m always interested in fairy/folklore texts focusing on belief or regional expression. Academic is a-okay, of course, and I’m also happy to do collections, too. Thank you for the potential opportunity!

Hello #FolkloreThursday I am sliding into the bird-site trash fire to let people know that I'm moving into a role as book review editor at Marvels & Tales & am looking for people who want to review fairy-tale books (sometimes scholarly, sometimes tale collections). Chat me up!

@atarbuck @commoninkcap @HeadOnFirePod I would gladly buy one too! Love the little bellarmine bottles! Will check out her store. In terms of suggestions, maybe teacups with leaf-reading symbols on the saucers? Or even coffee mugs with folkloric/magical motifs?

Witch twitter! My mum is a ceramicist who already makes amazing witch bottles (see pic). I'd love her to make more witch stuff (for etsy?), but what should it be? Witch votives, talismans, statuary, ritual tools? What's the market crying out for? @ctsluna @HeadOnFirePod @atarbuck

@LeapingPrincess I read A Thousand Acres by Jane Smiley for a class about adaptations once, connected to king Lear. I remember liking it a lot

Okay, hivemind: I'm putting together a class on literary adaptations/rescriptings (i.e., literary works that rework previous works--think Wide Sargasso Sea or Anouilh's Antigone). Anybody got any favorites they'd like to recommend?

@GingerPale It was great! We usually try to do a theme. Last year was Squid Game but GF was the best one so far (and very homemade as you can tell)

1/ I got to teach Lucille Clifton’s “cream of wheat” yesterday and listen I’m an old white guy but I did my best leading a discussion of race, performance, ads, & exploitation, and a young Black woman in the class added a ton of depth to it and at the end…

Last day at my university (possibly ever teaching college). Bittersweet but excited about potential futures & new directions. Still, would love to hear it works out…do YOU have a story of a career restart you can share to ease my mind, academic or otherwise?

@tiredxwitch @RiverEnodian My league level is determined the cumulative score across all languages I do in a week. I usually do 1200-2k points/wk over 5-6 languages and stay in Diamond. Strategic use of the xp double bonus helps boost scores sometimes

I know there’s a lot to be upset about today and it’s wrong of me to ask probably, but if you have any spare good feelings you can send my way I’d appreciate them. Today is sh*t both at a big picture and small scale for me. Thank you💜💜💜

@ValerianGirl Thank you for sharing this. Do they give any sense of why it’s so hush-hush? Do non-TT faculty at your uni know about the system at least?

@ctsluna I'm on a TT hiring committee right now. We use points and we aren't supposed to let anyone outside the committee see any of the paperwork. We have to agree to give our notes to HR after we finish
