I'm digging the new @NapaBookmine, especially because I'm sitting in practically the same spot where I interviewed for my first daily news job with the Napa Register. The paper's headquarters are long gone, along with my gold hoop earring.

Hallelujah! After two years of bargaining, endless hours in planning meetings and at the bargaining table, we have a contract! We fought hard for this — all of our membership — and it worked. As we like to say in CWA (our parent union): When we fight, we win!

Already hearing notions that a ballpark could be built for the A's at the 140-acre Golden Gate Fields site once the track closes. Not sure about that idea. There's a wind belt along that part of the bay, and during afternoon/evening, conditions are much like old Candlestick Park.
