In the last few years we've seen: - The plot to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer - The Storming of the Capitol and pipe bombs left at the RNC and DNC - The break-in to kidnap Nancy Pelosi and the brutal on Paul Pelosi - Multiple assassination attempts against Trump - The assassination of Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband and the shooting of on State Senator John Hoffman and his wife - Luigi Mangione's assassination of Brian Thompson - The assassination of Charlie Kirk Political violence is contagious. It is spreading. It is not confined to one side or belief system. It should terrify us all. The foundation of a free society is the ability to participate in it without fear of violence. Political violence is always an attack against us all. You have to be so blind not to see that.

Ukraine deeply values the Holy See’s consistent position in upholding international law, condemning the Russian Federation’s military aggression against Ukraine, and protecting the rights of innocent civilians. At this decisive moment for our country, we hope for the continued moral and spiritual support of the Vatican in Ukraine’s efforts to restore justice and achieve a lasting peace. Russia does not stop its terror against Ukraine. Daily, it launches aggression against our people, cities, and villages, using various types of weapons. This week alone, the occupiers have used over 1,100 guided aerial bombs, more than 560 strike drones, and approximately 20 missiles of various types against our country. I want to express my gratitude to our people who work day and night to protect Ukrainians from Russian attacks, provide assistance, and are always ready to save lives. We are working hard with our partners to stop the enemy, strengthen Ukraine, and provide maximum protection for our people so that this Russian terror becomes impossible.

One of the largest printing facilities in Kharkiv and all of Ukraine. Yesterday, a Russian missile strike killed 7 people here. My condolences go out to their families and friends. 21 people were injured. The printing facility was destroyed, and tens of thousands of books were burned. A lot of children's books, educational materials, and textbooks... Russian terror must never go unpunished. Step by step, we ensure that the Russian state bears the consequences and costs of its evil. I am grateful to everyone who assists our people and everyone who defends Ukraine!

Welcomed a new eight pound, two ounce addition into our family last week. Her name is Maya and we love her tremendously. Talia is thrilled to be a big sister.

Before Passover, I had the opportunity to meet with representatives of Jewish organizations and students of a Jewish school. I am grateful to the entire Jewish community for supporting Ukraine in its struggle for freedom. I am especially grateful for the involvement of international partners, in particular from the United States, in helping our country. PRAYING FOR BALTIMORE: The Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore has collapsed after a container ship, Dali, slammed into it. Details; - 20 people are missing. - Approximately 10 vehicles and 7 construction workers were on the bridge as it collapsed - The 1,200 feet (366 m) span bridge was the third longest span of any continuous truss in the world. - The ship is a Singapore-flagged container ship, the Dali. - Gov. Wes Moore (D) said he declared a state of emergency in Maryland and is working with federal agencies to deploy resources for the response. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said he offered the department’s support to Baltimore authorities. - The collapse took place at 1:30am Eastern time.
