I'm starting a new Christian conference (Because we need another one!). It is called: Christmas Conference. (Christmas Con or XCon for the hip). Mr. @Chris_Hohnholz is our featured preacher and will sign your Bibles or an elf doll if you bring one.

"Our fathers refused to obey him, but thrust him aside, and in their hearts they turned to Egypt." Acts 7:39 You cann apply this today by substituting "fathers" with "generation", change refused to refuses, thrust to thrusts, turned to [continually] turn, and capitalize "him."

Oh that we would have preachers this very morning to preach Whitefield’s gospel! May the Lord send revival to our land!

OTD 288 years ago, May 3, 1738, George Whitefield arrived on his first visit to the American Colonies in Georgia. This helped set the stage for his return trip to Philadelphia in 1739 that fanned the flame of revival the scope of which we’ve not seen again.

@cuatronelson @merelyjwright Just so I'm clear... We're all supposed to find some deeper, SBC revealing meaning in a silly tongue and cheek post from a pastor. Please, enlighten me on how this is "not pastoring" and "shameful."

Cut out name because it’s not about one person. (See @merelyjwright for name). But this is, once again, why SBC has much deeper issues than ppl admit. This is not pastoring. It makes me want to go Nehemiah on guys. Shameful.

For the most part, 1689 gatekeeping isn’t overly helpful. We’re small enough as it is! Disagreement? Yes. Sharpening? Absolutely. But banishing brothers over not being “really” 1689 is unwise and unfruitful. Baptists gonna baptists!

@cuatronelson The local church today doesn’t often look much like the local church in the New Testament.

Where there are babies, there is life (and noise!) and with life comes the potential for a great harvest.

it is one of the surest signs of a living, growing church. Messy floors today can mean faithful disciples tomorrow. Don’t despise the noise. Don’t fear the mess. The sound of silence ima church is far more deafening!

Proverbs 14:4 “Where there are no oxen, the manger is clean, but abundant crops come by the strength of the ox.” I’m going to make an application here for babies in the church. Where there are no babies in a church, the sanctuary stays clean, tidy, and quiet. No crumbs 😬
