In the Hippodrome in Byzantine Rome, the chariot teams were the Blues & the Greens, and once their fans started a riot that almost forced an emperor to abdicate. In our class, it’s the Reds & the Greens. Hoping no one causes a riot to get me to abdicate. #weareChesterNJ

Today we played board games w/out rules. Students needed to figure out the goals & structure of the game. Tomorrow we will discuss Justinian's Law Code using their experience in creating their "laws" #weareChesterNJ

Students learned about the Emperor Justinian by trying to figure out the correct order of events that happened during his life. #weareChesterNJ

The BRMS boys soccer team found itself down 3-0 in the Morris County Group III Middle School tournament w/15 minutes left. They tied it up in regulation and scored less than 2 minutes into sudden death overtime to take home the championship #weareChesterNJ

Yesterday we began our Road to the White House presidential election game. The room is decked out in Red and Blue Lights (students will create their own political parties battle it out for electoral votes) #weareChesterNJ

For 20 years, every governor of NJ wants to remove history education & my students need to explain why history is important from our notes. (Of course it isn't true, but it makes for a great writing prompt as a conclusion to our study of why history matters) #wearChesterNJ

Spent Saturday afternoon at Skull Rock at Turkey Brook watching my current 7th graders start strong against Mount Olive. Tri Boro gave the JV Junior Maurauders a scare & closest game this year. My daughter helped cheer her team to victory. #weareChesterNJ
